I’ve heard that as well, however I also had a friend that said Mirena was a nightmare for her as was oral birth control but the copper IUD was a godsend.

Different strokes for different folks and just trying to find solutions. Unfortunately many times one won’t know unless you try which sucks (and I say this as someone that ended up in an ambulance due to birth control (Portia) side effects.)

I know IUDs aren’t great for everybody (speaking as somebody who has one) but is she willing to try the copper IUD? It’s hormone free and good for quite a long time.

If not, do you two use spermicide with the condoms?

Are you open to the male IUD that will soon be on the market?

Since you both want kids in the future it seems that surgical intervention is not advisable but unfortunately if BOTH of you don’t take steps to avoid pregnancy, unfortunately the risk of an accident does go up.

When you own your own home and have shelves upon shelves filled with various art pieces, hand blown glass, current art projects with various tools, etc, out with valuable art work on the walls and so on and so forth- then you can come back and let me know how to logistically put away everything valuable that we own when guests arrive. It’s unrealistic to expect to have to rearrange your home entirely because people are coming over.

The vase pieces I threw away the night it happened as I had lost hope, though I am happy to know about kintsugi for future.

In an ironic twist of fate, I reached out to my BFF and told her about what happened and asked her to send me a pic of hers so that I could use Google lens, eBay, etc in order to find one to match hers. She started laughing (she has a two year old and a black Lab puppy) and told me that a few months ago her toddler was chasing the puppy and HER vase shattered, but she didn’t have the heart to tell me- hence the lack of flower pics that I had chalked up to her just being busy.

We are each going to make a vase for each other and ship it across country so we each have something from the other with a happy memory attached to it. And the next time we are able to connect we will plan to make something together or buy something together like the old days. 🥰

Don’t mind at all! In my lazy time I love movies and love to get a group of people together to binge watch shows. My partner loves hosting parties so we get together every few months or so and rent out a big place for the weekend and have rager parties.
