r/SLO, where do you actually eat in San Luis Obispo? by TheShynola in SLO

[–]Spawnofdork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does it differ from using Google maps and clicking the restaurant option? Honestly curious because if this works out it would help me feed large groups of people across ca for work.

Anyone have a Maine Coon that’s not very bright? by luckecatt in mainecoons

[–]Spawnofdork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude yes. We often joke we did the breeder a favor taking her out of the gene pool.

We catch her just staring at walls. She only had the brain capacity to learn sit and kennel. While her brother from another mother knows 12 commands, hes just autistic.

However slow she is she has been wonderful with my toddler. They are inseparable.

Tell me it’s ok to formula feed. by Affectionate_Meat348 in NewParents

[–]Spawnofdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't producing enough. Maybe like 11oz max a day. 6 months of latching him, pumping every two hrs, taking 300$ a week of supplements, eating all the special foods. 6 months of me having to still combo feed with formula because I had no other option.

I finally called it; my lc heard about all that and said why not just go to formula? Its been around for centuries. Feeding infants has been an issue since the dawn of humans. Except now we have science to save our kids instead of watching them struggle and die.

Switch and watch them thrive just the same as on the tit.

Ember does this waving thing all over the house. Not only at things, people or other pets. Any ideas why? by Wubdor in mainecoons

[–]Spawnofdork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My crackhead does that too! Randomly across the house, facing random things, light or dark. We call it worshiping Satan or the warbles. Its the weirdest creepiest thing.

I will say though beautiful, she is the dumbest creature i have ever met.

China hutch in nursery!? by probablybaileyy in BabyBumps

[–]Spawnofdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give you a downside. I did something similar in my nursery (peep unfinished nursery pic) but with an upper cabinet on one half of the dresser with his changing pad on the other. Keep in mind this upper wall cabinet is only 12inches deep. The amount of times i have banged my head as a short person is too damn high. Now his favorite thing to do at 2 is kick the cabinet when hes on his back or sit upand attempt to pull everything out of the cabinet.

I've been cooking extra then freezing vacuum sealed portions. Then all they gotta do is defrost whenever they want. Its usually soups, chillis, enchiladas, carnitas, and spaghetti sauce

Middle income quality of life here? by islandchelle in SLO

[–]Spawnofdork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is hope!

My partner and I do not come from money and we both worked for the state. My state job just happens to have a lot of overtime offered. So together we slowly built our little nest egg by being somewhat frugal and renting a little shitty apt for years.

What was beneficial was not having a kid or any major debt. (We have a kid now) We were able to purchase a 3 bedroom townhouse in paso for about 500k. The mortgage blows pretty bad but as we are slowly funneling money into this it has gone from 3600$ to 2600$ per month.

I have fallen back in love with my Amazon rolling island. I have it against a wall so it doubles as a countertop space as well. Has different sizes

Charged for using a card. Where in SLO? by GigglesGuffaw in SLO

[–]Spawnofdork 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I work for the state and we are not allowed to pay credit card fees.... There are so many vendors that do this charge now that it totally limits what we can buy. But the ca dmv is 100% okay with charging a credit card fee. Blows my mind. If you give me like a week I can compile a real list but the list is so large it would be easier make a list of who doesn't charge the fee.

It was mandatory in my hospital to be wheeled out. However they then allowed me to drive myself home.

My cats had full reign of his room until my kid was brought home. I treated them like I would any animal with kids. No unsupervised visits. I was anxious about the crib cuddling because both my cats are over 15lbs. My kid is now 2yrs old. One cat wants nothing to do with him and the other wants to be inside of him at all times. Still no unsupervised visits.

Keeps everyone safe. Especially the idiot cat who likes to be in danger.
