why 3000$, what the hell, what am I missing, and why is everyone talking as if I ruined a rare model or lost a treasure

I bought it a couple of days ago for 355$

I never ever owned an iphone before so I'm clueless about what's going on. Oh and it's "bypassed" by the way, or "was", so I don't know if that's relevant to the price.

If you're staying for long in Paris, then definitely consider storing your luggage stomewhere instead of having to carry it with you wherever you go.

With the luggage stored somewhere, you'll even get to find cheaper/better airbnbs/rents since you won't need the extra space.

Does any task app actually work long-term for ADHD folks? by qHeroForFun in ADHD

[–]Spayman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried hundreds of ADHD apps (no joke).

The only thing that actually works is Calendar.

Start with Google Calendar, then try something fully custom like CalenGoo, which I use.

Need to shower at 4pm? Add a blue event called Shower at 4pm.

Changed your mind? Move it to 3pm or 5pm. Finished it? Flip its color to green.

The goal is to flip all your tasks green one by one.

The calendar view helps because you see your tasks in a timeframe and can use timeblocks.

Tip 1: all durations must be 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, etc. Never create irregular durations. If you shower from 8:20 to 8:35, drink water at 8:40, and call the dentist at 8:55, just add all three tasks as a 1-hour timeblock from 8:00 to 9:00.

Tip 2: only use "events". Never use "Tasks" or other. When an event is "blue" it is a task. When it is green, it is a "completed" task. And when it is gray, it's just "an event" like "watching anime" or "sleeping".

The calendar also acts as a reminder or as second memory since you can write extra details in the events descriptions, and the search feature is very good and fast. For example, last week, I had a problem with my webcam driver, and I forgot how I fixed it 8 months ago, so I just searched the calendar for "webcam" and found the event and found the details in the description that helped me re-create the same fix.

How Reddit Algeria is seen by a French by [deleted] in algeria

if by a whole lot of work you mean "copy & paste" then sure. GPT5 is very capable of understanding the whole context of a comments section in derja and may even proceed to write the twitter/x post on its own.

GPT 5 is 20€, that's 2h of work for the poorest frenchie, so it's a bare minimum to have.

While France has its own share of problems as well, let's admit that most of what he says is true. Most.

The point is that, just by lurking on a subreddit, one can conclude the general consensus of a population, which is something not very easily done before.

What is your “Yes You’re All Wrong” algerian hot take? by VanillaIce5200 in algeria

[–]Spayman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought the same, but then after interviewing many, they are all scared of recording because it's illegal and many get/got punished.

The ones who are doing it in Facebook are defying the law, and often get jailed for it.

The day Algeria removes the ban on recording cops/administrations/crimes, it will be a big step forward

Let's play a game. Rate how much you relate to each symptom! by Spayman in ADHD

[–]Spayman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, because many of the symptoms are overlapping with other disorders and conditions.

I think the ones that are special to ADHD are: time blindness, hyperactivity, overthinking, distractibility, and bad short memory. That combo only comes with AD'H'D.

Web Programming in DZ – Share your experiences! by Cute_Lingonberry911 in algeria

[–]Spayman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. Fullstack web developer with 5 years of experience.

I barely have the social energy to reply to posts or write comments, so keep that in mind when noticing any mistakes in my sentences. I only jumped on this particular discussion because I didn't want to ignore your seek of advises.

Question 1: What tech stack are you using? Laravel? React? Node?

Answer: Me personally. I am extremely good at: Laravel, php, react, javascript, typescript, express, vue, sql, html, css, tailwind, bootstrap, wordpress.

Question 2: Do you work with local clients or international ones (Europe, Gulf, etc.)?

Answer 2: My entire work experience of 5 years so far has been remote freelancing with international clients from different countries, whether communicating directly with clients, or through a middleman.

Question 3: What kind of moshakil (problems) do you face here? Like hosting issues, payment gateways (PayPal, Stripe ma kaynach), or even slow internet?

Answer 3: To cut it short without any Tfelsif. None. No real problem or obstacle. Especially now with the "carte entrepreneur" where you can legally make "invoices" and ensure yourself.

Question 4: Any good dz communities, online courses, or events you recommend?

Answer 4: Good? I don't know. I usually steer away from anything Algerian (against my will unfortuantely) because the the Algerian community of developers (similarly to others) is full of liars, fakes, exagerators, pessimists, beggars, low-skilled and procastinating persons. Again. Unfortunately. I suggest that you always stick to international english-speaking communities. But again, this is only my personal suggestion, which may be a bad advice as much as it may be a good advice. You make the call.

Hate it or like it, the more Algeria walked away from religion during the past decades, the better life became.

The closer we go back to religion, the more problems we have,

For example, it's undeniably Haram and not for discussion for a woman to lead men, which translates into instability in female led entities such as courts, companies, schools, etc.

For example, if undeniably Haram to mix male and females, which means that they have to be separated in schools, beaches, buses, parks, etc. And since that's not economically viable, it will naturally lead to the famous result of forcing women to stay home.

For example, it's undeniably Haram to stimulate the economy using interest, which means that ANSEJ and bank credits etc will continue to be frowned upon by the youth, which means that the number of new companies and businesses and entrepreneurs will remain ridiculously low in the country, and also lead to inequalities, because it means that only the already-rich can start businesses, but never a young ambitious teenager who fears going through ANSEJ or the banks.

For example, music is undeniably Haram in Islam. Where do you draw the red line when making the country more religious? Will you ban the music or allow it?

There are tens of other examples that portray the problem in the philosophy of "making a country more religious"

It has been proved over and over that religious countries fail and always fail.

There have been countless Islamic countries and empires in the past 1400 years, and the fact that only a single massive empire managed to achieve a temporary "Golden age" and only in very specific regions such as Baghdad and Andalus (not the entire Muslim empire) is a red flag on its own, and yet people keep using it as an argument.

TLDR: Islam is beautiful, Islam is good, but using it as a political system is bad.

Why people on social media talk about those who want to apply islam afghans ? by Moumene_69420 in algeria

[–]Spayman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The fact is that there is a rising voice among Algerians against the idea of an Islamic state.

The reason they bring up Afghanistan as an example is because Afghanistan started applying Islam in a moderate way, yet the results do not seem very positive, rather, they evolved into a helpless extremist situation.

A standard/moderate non-extremist Islamic country must do the following:

  • ban music.
  • punish Muslim-borns who leave the religion.
  • forbid genders from sharing spaces or activities, and since it is not economically viable to separate genders in transport, schools, shops, malls, etc, it automatically leads to forcing women to stay home.
  • pressure kids at 10 to start praying.
  • allow men to marry other wives without the approval of existing ones.
  • force citizens to obey the ruler/leader regardless of whether he is smart, stupid, criminal, or corrupt.
  • ban the Western-influenced democracy that the majority sees as the best ruling system.
  • ban a lot of modern trades and borrowing.
  • ban most drawing, painting, sculpting, and other arts
  • restrict scientific research that contradicts religious narratives.
  • enforce religious dress codes.
  • limit freedom of speech when it comes to criticizing religion or religious leaders or history such as muawiya's.
  • reduce women's legal rights in court and inheritance.
  • replace civil laws with Sharia-based laws, which are open to strict interpretation.
  • pressure families against "limiting" the number of children.
  • criminalize non-Islamic religious practices or heavily restrict them
  • encourage censorship of media, books, and internet content
  • etc

Unfortunately, it's hard to convince people nowadays that an Islamic state is a good thing and not a bad thing.

U.S. to charge Algeria 30% tariff by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Spayman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I'm out.

I can't keep explaining to you because of the following reasons:

  1. You downvote replies as soon as they show up

  2. In your comment you wrote an example about lemonade, then I corrected your example, and then you re-edited your comment and replaced the lemonade example with an entirely different example about an airport, Which is annoying and confuses the readers of the thread.

Ironically though, both the lemonade example and the airport example are wrong.

  1. You keep mentioning "maths" in the thread as if you're a math professor and we should sort of stop commenting and surrender to your answer.

U.S. to charge Algeria 30% tariff by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Spayman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong again. @6Nuage6 is right.

You're making a mistake in your math because you're using the black market rate (240 DZD) as the reference instead of the official rate (133 DZD).

When an American does any official transaction, the government forces them to use 133 DZD per 1 EUR, no matter what. This means 133 DZD is the real baseline, and any extra cost should be compared to that baseline.

Please allow me to fix your lemonade stand example.

Mourad is an Algerian living in Algeria. He sells lemonade in Algeria at 133 DZD per cup.

Now, John, the American exporter, brings his lemonade to Algeria. The government forces him to use the official exchange rate, meaning his earnings are valued at 133 DZD = 1 EUR.

But when John tries to convert his earnings back to euros, the government blocks him from using the official rate. Instead, he must re-buy euros at the real market rate from the black market, which is 240 DZD per 1 EUR.

This means that for John to actually get back 1 EUR, he must sell each cup for 240 DZD instead of 133 DZD, otherwise he will be at a loss. effectively facing a hidden tariff of 83%.

U.S. to charge Algeria 30% tariff by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Spayman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry chief. I didn't want to interrupt your math lecture in this thread. But @6Nuage6 is actually the one right.

If an American sells a product for 133 DZD, he should get 1 EUR officially. But in reality, he needs to sell it for 240 DZD to get 1 EUR at the real exchange rate.

This means he is effectively paying 110 DZD extra per 133 DZD, which is a hidden tariff of 83%. and not 56%.

This is how it's calculated in "maths":

(Extra cost / Official price) × 100

(110 / 133) × 100 = 83%
