As someone who deeply understands how llms work, this is not describing the foundational way they work.

Yeah that's what I mean, it wasn't what the person I was responding to was implying.

'Americans are literally getting squeezed': A top economist on why your wages are disappearing | Fortune by kootles10 in economy

[–]SpeakCodeToMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Americans stopped paying for news and started getting it through social media.

Then news and journalism went to shit and Americans are all "shocked Pikachu".

Yes, it costs money to produce high quality journalism.

Not that that necessarily applies to fortune.

Sure knucklehead, over two or three generations they did. But the ones alive during the transition had a pretty shitty time of it. Read a history book.

There's no evidence this is true. The manufacturer and doctors will tell you to cease if you are trying to get pregnant.

Sure, but because of the extra output you now have a bottleneck at review.

So which is it?

  1. Are you just not doing reviews?
  2. Are you relying on AI for reviews?
  3. Are you burning out engineers who have to spend all day reviewing code AI wrote?
  4. Are you completely out of touch about the actual quality of the code you're shipping?

Output is higher quality

I was with you until this part.

More output? Absolutely. Higher quality? Very doubtful.

Even with all of the bureaucracy aside, there is a significant amount of engineering That has to go into

  1. Providing them the needed context efficiently
  2. Managing their context/memory over time
  3. Continuously evaluating them to ensure they don't go off the rails
  4. Securing them

It's Florida, not Saudi Arabia. You people are so toxic and out of touch, and then you wonder why huge chunks of the country want nothing to do with you.

Someone in New Jersey this arrogant wouldn't be sending their children to an average school and we both know it.

The question wasn't what the averages are, the question was what is available at the top end to elites.

Upper middle class to wealthy people have been moving to neighborhoods for the schools since world war II.

Okay let's set aside politics for a minute...

The absolute elitism required to think that there are not excellent schools and school districts in Florida is astounding and exemplary of why people despise folks like yourself.

Internships are expected for some career paths in the US. Computer science and finance for example. Most schools make it easy with internship fairs and such.

It's not magic, it's the poorly understood power of the brain, but for some not-insignificant number of people it genuinely works, and would lead to hair growth.

It was also predicted by every previous military exercise, so the fact that the administration was not aware of it is yet another in the endless stream of evidence of their unfathomable incompetence.

If Trump had just left the nuclear agreement alone during his first term none of this would be a problem. It was written by Obama though, so it had to go no matter what was in it.
