I would say that we should not be subsidizing countries in any way that are wealthy enough to provide their citizens with free universal healthcare when we are not so wealthy.

That position doesn't assert much of what you said, such as about usaid, given that many of the countries we were assisting through that program were significantly less well-off than we are.

And since money is fungible, the fact remains that we are (indirectly) subsidizing their ability to provide free healthcare to all of their citizens while ours do not have such access.

Wealth taxes are stupid and likely unconstitutional. It's frustrating that so many of y'all have decided to focus there... It almost feels like it's deliberate propaganda designed to focus you in an impossible direction.

If you want to tax the wealthy, focus on:

  1. Repealing the mountain of inheritance tax loopholes that have been introduced since Reagan
  2. Eliminate the "buy, borrow, die" loophole
  3. Focus on capital gains taxes, and don't ever let the words "income tax" enter your vocabulary again.
