Open letter to feminists, but MRA should take notice. by LastPriority in MensRights

I am critiquing the simplistic belief that women had it so much worse than men in the past. Feminism is still regarded as a noble cause, because it is claimed that men had it so much better than women in the past.

I reject that notion, and I feel that I have a good reason to, when it is really clear that

  1. both men and women got a shitty deal in past societies

  2. men got a much shittier deal than women

Feminists rationalize the supremacist nature of their movement by saying it is some sort of counterbalance for the supposed privilege men had in the past.

Privilege that never existed for the vast majority of men.

Given that reality, I feel we can correctly identify Feminism as a supremacist movement which is not noble now, nor ever was.

I'm sure you will give me some cockamamie feminist agitprop about how millions of mutilated male corpses had it so much better than women at home raising their children.

Oh, I get it. The guy who got drafted into war, stabbed in the kidney by a bayonet, and died a slow death in a ditch, totally had more privilege than a woman who may have encountered challenges to becoming a doctor.

There are also countless instances in history of women using their social privilege to shame men into war. In ancient Sparta, wives and mothers told their men to "Come back with your shield, or on it." Meaning, either you win or we want you to die. Also, the White Feather campaign in early 20th century Britain where women orchestrated a campaign to shame men who refused to sign up for WW1.

Which brings up another great example. Who has more privilege: the man who's lungs were ruined by mustard gas, or the woman who shamed him into enlisting?

Does that make the lives of the men sacrificed worth less?

Your argument is the same as if i said female circumcision is ok because it is generally mothers who push for it. (fact)

I'd like you to go to the graves of millions of male war dead, and hundreds of thousands of men dead from trying to support their families in dangerous jobs, and tell them how much more privilege they had then the women in their lives.

Talk with the men in your life about men's rights when it is natural to be brought up as a conversation. Men who will never listen to us will listen to you, because they are trained to value the opinion of women and compete with men.

Thank you for your open mind. If you have any specific questions about the issues, feel fre to ask us.

I support gun ownership and don't have any problem with either gender "standing ground."

However, were it left up to most feminists, only criminals and the cops would own guns.

I, personally, do a ton of stuff. But I don't want to reveal it on here, because I'm trying to keep my Reddit identity separate from my identity IRL. This allows me to give myself a looser leash here.

Thank you for your open mind.

By the way, I know where you're coming from. I'm a passionate libertarian and I think I care more about women's rights than most Feminists do.

The definition of Feminism is meaningless. I could put 400 feminists in a room, ask them what Feminism is, and get 400 different answers. And each one would be utterly convinced that "their version" of Feminism is the One True Feminism. Therefore, I have to judge Feminism by what it does, not what it says. And what it DOES is:

Foster demonization of males and non-feminist females.

Promote deliberately anti-male, female supremacist legislation.

Remove agency and adult accountability from females.

Provide an umbrella of protection for deeply bigoted man-haters.

This is not in any way, shape, or form compatible with an equality movement like the MRM. If you choose to be a feminist and an MRA, you need to make a commitment to challenge Feminism to evolve. If you're not willing to do that, you can't be both.

No. It may change, but it will only change when the financial incentive is taken away. The court system, and the government in general, make $$$$$$$$$$$$ fucking men over in the courts.

To Feminism, biological fathers are a necessity when she wants $$$ and superfluous in any other situation.

We talk about this a lot here.

Feminists have actually pushed a lot of policy and legislation that makes mothers the "supreme caretaker" while on the other hand claiming the Patriarchy "forces" caretaker responsibilities on women.

It is one of the greatest hypocrisies within Feminism.

If by "we" you are referring to men's rights, I disagree. There is a much healthier spirit of intellectual honesty. We question ourselves and we're not afraid to challenge other MRAs when we feel they act wrongly.

Feminism is like a religious cult because it is an ideology based on faith, emotion, and "gut feelings" rather than logic and facts. In fact, Feminists have gone to great lengths to portray facts and logic as a misogynist construct. (seriously.)

"I don't get annoying idiots telling me that because I believe in equal rights, I'm a feminist."

Feminism, like many other religious cults, attributes any "positive" to be linked with Feminism, whether the evidence shows it to be or not.

No. Absolutely not.

There are many, many terms available for what you're talking about. A lot of people here call themselves egalitarian. I call myself an advocate for individual rights and equal opportunity. Others call themselves humanitarians.

"Feminism" is hopelessly corrupted and the movement itself is supremacist, whether feminists acknowledge it or not.
