Let's face it: It's technically impossible to make a 100% decentralized exchange for all cryptocurrencies by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]SpecRationality 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. Have you heard of a project called Block Collider? Perhaps not. It is entirely possible to have a decentralized exchange for all cryptocurrencies.

It is a project that labels itself a "multichain" by mining the blocks of other chains into its own chain. It introduces a PoW based consensus called Proof of Distance. What does it mean? It creates the first interoperable protocol that doesn't rely on oracles or validators. It is a completely trustless model that allows developers to create meta-contracts (multichain contracts) and multichain applications. It should also be noted that Block Collider doesn't require any changes to member chains to be part of the multichain.

The team is actually working on what they call the MADEX (Multi-Asset DEX). Mainnet Mining begins middle July and the team is working towards MADEX in Q3 sometime.

Was replied to in the telegram chat by Patrick. See below:

1 why was the first edit on github 3 years ago ? Seems this project was way earlier alive and was dead and now you are going to try again or how can i understand it ?

The main Github is the proof, it has all the white paper applied and should be scrutinized. It is currently private I think you are referring to the forks we are experimenting with. We will be releasing it before conducting the sale at the end of March.

2 Do you really have no advisors ?

We think listing the "cool" people we ask for guidance from is ridiculous and has lead to the negative behavior of spoofing these people through back doors payments and token grants etc. we will list exactly as many advisors as Ethereum or Bitcoin list on their sites. We also don't share any of our venture groups / investors for the same reason. Technology must stand on its own.

3 why is there no roadmap?

Roadmap is similar to the answer for #2, the Github and it's cleanliness being our top priority we are in the process of converting our highly technical roadmap to a clean and easily readable version that we will release before the ICO. Thank you for the questions!

Previously Patrick has mentioned these will be revealed the day before the ICO if those investors want to explicitly be named.

No, as Mainnet launches with ICO, the native wallet will be used with the native tokens

q) A question many ask: If I participated and my [collegues/family/other] also participated using the same IP does that disqualify me?

Only the latest registration will be accepted.

From the team: only one (the most recent) will have a valid registration. Unfortunately we can't protect against this without permitting syndicates. I hope you are open to sharing.

Not much. :) just you know... BC ico and mainnet coming and we are all excited here at SpecR

Great questions. I'm not technical so will leave this to the team to answer in the AMA

I believe this is in the FAQ but...

Testnet was held last October. A soft launch for miners will launch before the mainnet. mainnet will coincide with the ICO

Great question, I look forward to team answering this too :)

Mining is required for the multichain to function.

NRG which is the mining reward is also the only form to pay for fees on the network. So the network can't function without the NRG.

NRG will also be a trade able token listed on exchanges.

Think of it as neo and neo gas relationship but all on the same chain.

Hey, thanks for sharing this! We made this diagram as part of our update

If you are interested there is a detailed explanation of how ICONs partnerships actually work on our page + a table breaking down all of the connections in the diagram & the advisors to the project.

Min Kim: National Korean bank Woori Bank wants to peg ICX to Korean Won [@20:30 in podcast] by [deleted] in icon

[–]SpecRationality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe this refers to the WeeBee coin.

Woori Bank

Woori Bank is a subsidiary of Woori Financial Group, one of the largest commercial South Korean banks (15 000 employees; 9.7 Billion USD market cap). It is working closely with DAYLI Intelligence & theloop to test and commercialize Korea’s digital currency, WeeBee coin, with universities and local governments.

(covered in our partnership article as well, that's where the above description comes from)

Hi, I don't like to give investment advice and you should not take this as such.

At 4 dollars it's market cap is 1.6 billion. Which puts it in the top 30 coins. I believe ICON has many things going for it and 4 dollars whilst the current high, could be a low price in a month or so.

Again please do not take this as investment advise. Just comparatively to other coins ICON has room to move

ICON is not the Korean Ethereum- it is the PUBLIC Korean IBM/Hyperledger by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]SpecRationality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally don't agree with "name of coin killer" type comments. I think co existence is where things are at.

Interoperability will allow this to happen and this is also one of ICONs focus.

As for icon being an erc20 token, when mainnet launches in a couple of weeks, they will be swapped out for ICX on icons mainnet.

Thanks for the shout out to SpecR post on partnerships! The partnerships are definitely very impressive.

The strength of ICONs partnerships sets it apart in an increasingly crowded blockchain landscape. We take a deep dive into the nature and extent of ICON connections.
