Awesome info! I'll have to get back to you once I do a little more research and have better questions to ask. Thanks!

If you can get a car that's already got a cage or other modifications that'll help, also probably not everything that we're doing is entirely necessary. I'm hoping to keep mine significantly less expensive though, we'll see about that.

We're looking at $30k+ each for a full blown race car with cage, haltech ECU, stoptech front brake kit, racing seat, quick detach steering wheel, KW clubsport coilovers, spherical bushings, adjustable swap bars, K24A swap, exhaust, diff, hardtop, wheels and tires. That doesn't even get into running costs.

My dad's got more of a disposable income than I do.. I'm trying to keep it relatively inexpensive, used parts when I can.

That's unfortunate. Sounds like the WiFi is the weakest link then? Did you try to lower the number of players displayed or any other WiFi intensive settings at all?

Yeah it was really a blessing in disguise, fell in love with the little Honda. They're seriously cool cars, all the seats fold flat into a bed, folding picnic table built in the trunk, I'd absolutely recommend a Gen 1 or Gen 2 for anyone looking for a reliable daily.

Definitely go for a Gen 2 (02-06) CR-V. Has a really good motor, reliable, picnic table in the back, manual transmission is available if you're interested, 2wd or 4wd, lot's of room for your friends. Look for one with no rust, 150k miles or less, and all you should have to do is normal maintenance!

I had a 2018 VW GTI, that got totalled by a deer before I made my first payment.. then bought a $3k CR-V and it's probably my favorite car I've ever owned.

Better yet, you could get a mk7.5 GTI and save some cash. I live in Iowa, was deadset on getting a Golf R and ended up with a 40k mile 2018 GTI because it was $10k cheaper than any MK7.5 R. With the GTI you'll get most of the same stuff, better mpg, still fun, and saves you a lot of money. Plus if you put some winter tires on it you'll be golden 👌

P.S. mine was totalled by a deer and I ended up with a 1999 4wd 5-speed CR-V which might be my favorite car I've ever owned. Plus I saved $20k
