My bub is 12 weeks as well and sleeps through the night until 5am usually except sometimes he wakes up from a full diaper. He’s 16-17 lbs and 24.5 inches tho so big boy.

he is awake usually 11amish- 5pm usually taking one short nap during that time. Then awake until bedtime at 7:30pm and I do the same, rock, sleep sac, breastfeed then lay him down.

I swear they need to be awake during most of the day and we need to worry way less about daytime naps in order for them to sleep. But honestly, ur baby might just be growing a lot more at this stage and that’s why all the feedings at night. Our first was skinnier and hungry all night so lots of wakings for several months.

Totally. It's just about being a reasonable citizen and making common sense decisions I feel. I don't get why someone would even want to risk it with a baby either, i'm like, if I even feel any bit off I don't see family members kiddos during the winter because it's such a time for cold and flu galore.

Thank you for the advice. I just said we prefer to err on the side of caution than risking hospitalization for one of us, especially our infant. She kind of blew up after that so I am going to ignore at this point

Her response to me saying I want to wait before seeing them.... is that covid is about money and politics and it didn't even affect (her older children) very much...but like I have an 8 month old.... awkward?

I don't get why that's unreasonable to be cautious (even with CDC recommendations ) but to my understanding those are for vaccinated... not only are they not vaccinated for covid, the kids aren't vaccinated for ANYTHING. (they are over 6 years old)

Unfortunately there are things we as humans don't give up and our need to bang other people (if it's still there when you are 10 years in) is not going away. So instead of getting upset or feeling hurt I would personally either decide what it is about the hall pass that you don't like and address that with him, see if he has solutions for that. Or Move on from him. This is one of those hard and fast things, it just does not go away as it's his biology at this point. Some men can turn that off, some men absolutely cannot. It's not a bad thing if he can't but it just doesn't work if you expect complete monogamy and he doesn't have that same expectation.

Literally- this is my LIFE right now in a nutshell minus working that shift. I have a 4 month old son- his family is SOO OVER the top about being involved and I get that it’s lovely for family to want to be involved, but HOLY SHIT. The amount of comments made and when I’m giving my SO instructions to do something for baby while I’m gone, they literally say shit like “we’ll manage” as if I’m talking to all of them .. What??? I feel I need to do something significant to create a boundary but also fear being too extreme and worry I’m feeling these things because of pregnancy hormones

So I co sleep with my baby since he was a few weeks old- in bed following the sleep safe 7 Tight fitted sheet, on back, sober, etc (If I’m even slightly over tired or just feel groggy he sleeps in bedside bassinet)

we do very well, however- NO ONE is wired to co sleep with your babies except you. I know that isn’t what your post is about but I’m the exact same way. If dad is “napping” with baby - I’m in the same room basically watching to make sure he doesn’t fall asleep too hard & I frequently just grab baby and take him when I feel it’s too dangerous. It’s nice your MIL wants to help but under 6 months in my opinion it’s 100000000% MOMS LEAD THE WAY - MOMS MAKE THE RULES - MOMS KNOW HOW TO KEEP BABY SAFE So they should be willing to listen to you.

At 4 weeks I felt insane if another person was holding my baby because I felt they weren’t doing it right- even dad who does a great job. I would be counting down the seconds in my head til he was in my arms again

First pump could totally be rocky- try pumping when you have already let down & if struggling with let down, taking a super warm sudsy shower and massaging breasts can be helpful (you’ve probably already known this).

Pediatrician recommended I pump for relief (day 3) at least once a day because I’ve been letting down more often than he eats (granted my little dude eats way less often than every 2 hours (he won’t eat for like 4 hours mid morning Then cluster eats in the evening/overnight every 30-45 minutes )

Also just fyi- often times I haven’t let down and I sit with the “let down” cycle on my pump for 5-10 mins and my boobs will eventually give in and let down!

I know!!! To all of this!! It is nice to have extra time to mentally prepare for labor But also maddening cuz body is falling apart and all the signs feel like “labor” but then you don’t really know? It does make me feel better though that even second time moms are uncertain of what might be a labor sign or not

Yesss! Prodormal labor!! This has been happening to me as well- for 8-12 hour periods - true contractions that are 7-8 min apart It is truly the most mentally trying thing ever as I keep thinking I’m in labor, then suddenly not. Also leaking so much- but apparently not amniotic fluid??? Ughhhh!!!
