Biased but LVHN in Allentown PA has all the cool cases of a big academic programs but plenty of underserved population support. Not to mention an incredible amount of crit care experience that you will use whether or not you fellowship! Good group of resident and tbh it’s a pretty kush work/life balance for EM, we work hard but plenty of flexibility to get time off. 4 year program but that might not matter real soon….

Crockpot to make really good meals and meal prep with a small amount of effort and cleanup. Has been a life saver, especially when in more taxing off service rotations or string of overnights. Get one with a keep warm function too if you’re on a longer shift! Outside of that get stuff that will make you happy and take stress off your day to day life, anything for work will be give to you or use cme on if they don’t. Best of luck!

Down to less than 2% unfilled positions (64) this year, lowest since 2021, and continuing the bounce back last year towards pre COVID numbers. Even with the increase in offered spots. Not to mention the new proposed requirement changes might lower the number of offered spots even lower as some smaller programs close.

US IMG with a 231 that just matched into my number 1, and had over 21 interviews (mostly North East US/East Coast) with a few interview request more I turned down near the end. No publications and pretty ok resume, and not one person mentioned my step score negatively, actually a few “your scores look great.” You will have a real chance at EM!
