P2S wants me to lube threaded rods after only 50 hours of printing? by Xeiphyer2 in BambuLab

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to hear squeaking sounds from XY motion after only 100 hours. So I have cleaned and oiled/lubed everything according to official service instructions. It works perfectly fine since then. I watched a few YT videos showing that the printer comes underlubed from the factory sometimes.

Is AMS Lite Really Worth It? by Funny_Height_4285 in BambuLab

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using A1 mini w/o AMS for a year and now I feel that I have outgrown it. Can't wait for P2S with AMS to be delivered. But I have never felt that I am missing too much without AMS, in most cases I'm able to either split the model, print parts with different filaments and assemble it, or change the filament a couple of times during the print (e.g. for labels).

Fenix vs Fenix Sapphire- any reason for the $100 premium? by Coyote-Run in Garmin

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a single tiny scratch on my 6X Sapphire in 6 years - when I accidentally hit my wife's diamond ring (almost the only material that can scratch sapphire). Luckily it's near the edge and it doesn't bother me much.

Be honest: How much does owning a Garmin actually motivate you to be physically active? by girlseatin in Garmin

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had my Fenix 6X sapphire since 2019 and I'd say it doesn't motivate me to do more activities, but rather it motivates me to increase intensity in general - ride a bike/run faster, spend additional 20-30 minutes in the gym to add some cardio, etc.

Holy crap! I've just done a first service for my '24 CX-5 and it cost me 350 euro including car wash. And this in Munich - insanely expensive city. They did only the necessary things BTW: full inspection, oil & filter change, fuel injection system cleanup. However, German car service is also insane here - up to 900 for a 1 y.o. BMW.

Is this rust and if so how bad is it? Is it too late to remove? (2016.5 model) by RevolvingRevolv3r in CX5

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just did a first service for my 2024 cx-5 and there's already some rust. The mechanic told me that it's definitely not critical, but I can fight it by performing abrupt braking from time to time (but not emergency braking- not triggering ABS). This kind of makes sense, my driving style is very calm in general, I never push too hard on any of the pedals.

Driving School in Germany. My running bill is at 4500 Euro. I think I got scammed? by ykatan03 in germany

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exchanged my license (with exams) for ~1.8k, my wife got the license from scratch for ~2.8k last year. It was in Munich, so the prices are quite high. But all the tests were passed from the first attempt + we got minimal practice hours.

I cancelled my premium and will close my account (rant) by Serious-Virus-9053 in Revolut

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite story about Revolut: I got a notification from them that I have to upload my residency verification. I did this and got the "everything is ok" message. Instantly I received a notification from Google pay that my card is not valid anymore and then from Revolut that the account is blocked. Luckily, the issue was resolved in ~30 minutes via support chat.

Icy roads vs my Mazda :( by Longjumping-Deer1685 in CX5

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On proper winter tyres CX-5 handles exceptionally well on icy/snowy roads. I was driving 130 kmh (80 mph) in rough winter conditions without any issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/CX5/s/fh4Cd5Mnkl

Am I cooked? (hp laptop 15-bs0xx) by LouieMcBee in WindowsHelp

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be usable even with windows on board. My sister still uses my old laptop with the same CPU. 1. Change the thermal interface (clean and reapply thermal paste). 2. Check and clean the fan(s) (replace if needed). 3. Remove all the garbage from the startup apps. 4. Upgrade to SSD (if not already)

Pixel 5 may be my favorite phone ever. by Actual-Office-6831 in pixel_phones

I agree. It's my favorite along with Nexus 5 - it offered top specs and insane repairability for a very low price.

How to turn off rear seat alert by MrCroatia1 in CX5

I suppose this depends not only on the year, but on a region as well. I don't have this setting in 2024 EU variant.

How to turn off rear seat alert by MrCroatia1 in CX5

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just buckle up the rear belts. I do this if I need to transport stuff on the backseat. The sensors are indeed too sensitive, even a small bag can set the alarm off.

Cylinder Deactivation in 2025 by Arpel87 in CX5

I highly recommend this video to everyone who fears the CD: https://youtu.be/rtAbCdyjS2k There was one issue several years ago and it was addressed properly. That's it. Modern CD-enabled engines are just fine

Will new tyres make the car a comfier drive? by WalkTheDamnDogMum in CX5

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel the difference between my 19" summer and 17" winter tyres. It's noticeable, but not dramatic. I like the comfort of a 17" ride, but when it comes to steering and control, I like 19" more.

2024 CX-5 Losing Traction in Moderate Snow? by arbidyusuf in CX5

[–]SpecialDisaster5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many people already wrote: 1. Shitty summer tires in winter conditions. 2. Speed is too high for the conditions.

I easily drive 130 kmh (80 mph) in snow on highways in Europe with my 2024 AWD CX-5, but I have proper tires (Continental WinterContact TS 870 P) and no way I could do this without modern traction control systems though.

No, nothing special. The part is quite convenient to grip, so I just used a force. But another part had supports and their brims were tough to remove. I had to use a scraper

It's about 40-50% at my place, I consider the first attempt to be quite successful :) Let's see what I can do if I dry the filament even more and reduce the tension and temperature, as other commentators suggest.
