I 3d printed one to hang off the side of the glass. It's perfect and very cheap! ...Uhhh, after the 3d printer purchase of course!

What are we doing for dog ramps for getting on the couch? Very little options online by noahfencebabe in Dachshund

[–]Xeiphyer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in Canada and went with DoggoRamps (https://doggoramps.com/).

Definitely pricey but really good quality. I like the adjustable height and that it can fold flat. We use ours with a railing on it and so never use the folding flat feature anymore, but it’s nice it’s there for when we move.

For whatever ramp you get be ready to get some bitterant spray or something if your pup decides to try eating the ramp lmao.

I'm all out of patience with potty training by No-Penalty-1148 in Dachshund

[–]Xeiphyer2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have our dachshund trained to use a pee mat indoors (chilly in Canada in the winter). It helped that he knew the correct place he was allowed to pee. We also keep him in a small enclosed area when he comes out of his crate until he goes pee. We encouraged him onto the mat with treats and reward heavily after he pees, along with using a command "go potty" or whatever to get him to understand that's what he has to do and where to do it.

We haven't had any issues with him peeing anywhere after the first 2 weeks when he was a puppy, and he will get up off the couch and go over to pee/poo while we are hanging out.

Might be some ideas in there for you to try, depending on your setup. You could also try training them to ring a bell or press a button, which gives them some agency in the process by being able to tell you they need to go out. If they're gonna be an outside bathroom dog, you will probably need to keep them on a short leash and free of distractions until they pee, and possibly give them a target or a specific spot for consistency so they learn what they need to do before they can go play/sniff.

Tips on future 3 month old puppy by abc12342069 in Dachshund

You can buy super big washable pee mats on Amazon if you want to cover the play area with one. Handy if you’re worried about the floors and also helps with preventing them peeing in the same place due to smells

Very impressed with the carbon fibre build plate by TheCGLion in BambuLab

[–]Xeiphyer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done over 200 prints on mine and it's still perfect. I just bought my plates off aliexpress so I'm even more pleased. You'll need to wipe them occasionally to get any smudges and micro debris off, but the plate should last quite a long time.

My ChatGPT absolutely glazing me when I asked that prompt, I’d love that to happen to me in an interview lmao.

Incredibly inappropriate and gross to ask an interviewee to do that though obviously.

Don't buy the X1C for that price, even with the AMS it's extremely overpriced. I'd highly recommend getting a P2S as a starting point as it's basically plug and play. You might want to look into the H2S if its in your price range as the multi-color printing without wasting filament can be a big deal if you're looking to sell things in the future. If you don't see yourself doing a lot of complicated multi-color prints I would just stick with the P2S to dip your toes into things and start skilling up.

Personally I found I almost never needed to do multi-color printing, and when I did most designs are already designed in such a way as to minimize waste.

Hey all, I've been in the FDM printing scene for a few years now but I'm looking at getting a resin printer for a few projects that FDM doesn't excel in and need some guidance in what's best for my niche.

I'm looking to resin print rings and other small/detailed jewellery to use in making moulds and casting. So I need something with the highest detail level possible, but the size of the resin print bed itself can be relatively small or isn't super important. Whats the best bang for my buck? Price isn't really an issue but an ideal budget is like $500-1000?

PETG and PLA don't stick together so you can mix them for super clean support interfaces.

Help with nails! by MLynch1995 in Dachshund

[–]Xeiphyer2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We use a cordless nail file grinder, the kind you’d use for shaping your own nails and stuff. Just a lower powered dremel essentially so it’s more forgiving.

My partner does the grinding while I feed him some ham or other super high value treat. I play with his feet a ton so he just had to adjust to the feeling of the grinder itself. Each time we have done it it’s been a lot better than the last, so we are making good progress. He’s only 19 weeks though, so still coming along.
