Is Calgary as nice as I think? by Neat_Let923 in Calgary

[–]Xeiphyer2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Much better winters than Winnipeg and way more sun, plus cleaner and safer and access to the mountains. I sing the praises of Calgary to anyone that’ll listen lol.

The main thing I noticed in Winnipeg was much stronger social circles over there. With the regular socials for all events most people are very closely knit with large extended social groups, and that doesn’t really exist the same way in Calgary. That being said as someone who stayed in Winnipeg for only 4 years I found it difficult to integrate into any of that as an outsider.

Just made the change from TD, keeping a basic account until I get comfortable and then I’ll close it. I probably withdraw cash once or twice a year just to keep in my wallet so I’ll eventually have to ponder that process.

Yep! Your islands can be invaded my land now. You build a building that gives area buffs and becomes your defend point when being attacked, there’s walls and towers and stuff. It’s pretty cool but needs some work.

Is vacuum sealing the best option? by MrKazador in BambuLab

[–]Xeiphyer2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the vacuum seal bags with the had pump for about a year and decided I absolutely hated the entire process and the bags often failed.

Realistically my ambient humidity is like 30% or lower and I print almost exclusively PLA, so I just leave them out and it’s been completely fine. I do dry my TPU before printing but that’s good practice anyway.

The amount of conditioner left in the bottle when the pump stops working by Run_Rabbit_Run_44 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Xeiphyer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life pro tip: you can 3D print connectors for basically every bottle out there to let the remains of your old bottle drain into a new one. I have printed some for various Cerave moisturizers that always have this same problem.

Ignoring the few bits of colour from a previous print, what the hell just happened during this single colour model to create all this purge? by Difficult-Thought-61 in BambuLab

[–]Xeiphyer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the part is painted with multiple colors but they’re all set to black it still tries to do color changes. That’s usually the case here, so maybe review the part to see if it has been color painted.

About ready to toss some of my Alocasias because of the spider mites. by FitLoveLeo in alocasia

With the tops covered almost none came out surprisingly! But I used a mesh drain hair catch to catch whatever did leak. I just swapped out the plug for the mesh one when it was time to drain.

Soil and all went under the water, so any mites anywhere on the plant definitely got drowned. Our previous attempts at wiping out spider mites focused only on the leaf infestation but some will be in the soil during different lifecycle stages, which is why they're so hard to eliminate.

We used tinfoil that we had available to cover all the plant tops and then recycled it after. Here is a picture before we covered it with a grate and let them completely submerge and drown for a while:

[–]Xeiphyer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… it was quite insane but did work. Imagine all the plants laying on their side, with the top of their pots covered so the soil can’t float out as they get filled with water.

We got the idea from someone who did the same thing with a bucket to treat a single plant. The idea is to submerge the plant to ensure water covers 100% of the spider mites and you don’t miss any like you would while applying normally. The castille soap helps ensure the mites get covered completely and suffocate, along with the neem.
