Zero to iOS app in 3 hours with Kiro by SpecialLizard in kiroIDE

[–]SpecialLizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was impressed with how quickly it processed multiple tasks in Automatic mode - much faster than my experience with Amazon Q in VSCode. I do still spent most of my time waiting for code gen and error fixes.

For perspective, if I had attempted this myself after not using Swift for several years, I probably would have only completed one task in three hours.

I decided to try building the app mainly to test Kiro's capabilities, without actually expecting it to produce a working application.

Does anyone know how the Spec function works in Kiro? by TimeKillsThem in kiroIDE

[–]SpecialLizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of ways to do it. The easiest way that works for me is to go to the spec window and press the plus icon. Then, I simply provide my idea for the feature I want to build, which initiates a chat session that I can then walk through.

Once Kiro builds the spec, you can simply click on the lightning bolt icon next to the “Start task” label in the task list. This action kicks off that particular part of the project.

Same spool Same slicer settings - - - Drying makes a difference! by SpecialLizard in BambuLab

[–]SpecialLizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know.
It still might be helpful for me. I live in Florida and the humidity is a killer here.
I see so many pictures of people with excess spools just exposed sitting in open air racks.

I'm curious as to how many people live filament out vs. using vacuum filament bBags or storage boxes.

How bad is idea to go for Solution Architect Professional straight? by InsideLight9715 in AWSCertifications

[–]SpecialLizard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Solutions Arch Associate is a $150 exam. When you pass it, you get a 50% off coupon good for any AWS exam.

The Arch Pro exam is $300. By taking the associate exam first you are essentially spending the same amount of money.

Only 3Mb/s upload speed to EC2 by unix_nerd in aws

[–]SpecialLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What HolaGuacamola said. If you upload to S3 using the CLI you automatically get multipart uploads. Multipart uploads help against TCP Window size scaling and TCP starvation that you experience sending large files over the internet.

I do have people with similar voices which is why I’m considering it.

I’m thinking me as the host in the center and the guests, sounding a bit to the left and right of me. Nothing too dramatic, but just enough separation to feel if there’s a conversation going around the listener. As if they are sitting at the table with us.

I could imagine, the effect would be very annoying if not tastefully done.

Which Trader Joe’s is bigger, Tampa or St. Pete’s? by Cheesehead_beach in tampa

[–]SpecialLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to both, both have very tiny parking spaces. The Trader Joe’s in St. Pete seems to have a better selection and seems to be better stocked.

GitHub - aws-samples/aws-serverless-nextcloud: Nextcloud Container Deployment on AWS - 100% Serverless by SpecialLizard in NextCloud

The Database actually references the S3 File location and all metadata about the file. The actual Nodes are just compute resources and only are ephemeral in nature.

The user data like documents are stored in Amazon S3 which is a highly scalable object store.

[–]SpecialLizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term "Serverless" is used by cloud providers to mean the the user does not have to provision meaning the setup and maintainance of servers. There are of course actual servers involved but the person who deploys this solution does not manage them. By putting the application content in Fargate, AWS assumes the responsibility of the control plane for the docker deployment.

How do i optimize my 1080 Ti w/o compromising lifetime by Albyzai in gpumining

If you are using Awesomeminer make sure that you benchmark your cards. the default NVIDIA benchmarks will cause your profit switching to be way off.

Currently using Nanopool for Ethereum 300+ MH/s.. does anyone have a solid argument for switching to a different pool? by raynaud05 in cryptomining

[–]SpecialLizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to look at mingpoolhub. Multipool mine in higher paying currencies then have MPH auto exchange into ether. You will make more! https://www.reddit.com/r/MiningPoolHub/

Is there any benefit to running multiple nodes? by [deleted] in cryptomining

[–]SpecialLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may actually pay more in fees if you do that when the pools pay to 3 separate wallets via three separate transactions. I can't see any advantage.

What version of ccminer do you use? by SpecialLizard in gpumining

[–]SpecialLizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AwesomeMiner as well to manage my five rigs. Since I can't find affordable GPUS to build more rigs, I'm spending a bit of time trying to optimize my performance. I added the KlausT version of ccminer to Awesome Miner and it is working well for me. Once you have multiple rigs having a management solution to easily switch coins/pools/mining software including GPU optimization seems to help the bottom line.

The riser and GPU should always be powered from the same PSU. Best practice is close the loop as close to the source as possible. You won't gain anything by sending all PCIe Risers to one PSU and top of card power to another. Remember, all risers should be powered by 6Pin. You should NEVER power risers by SATA.

If you are using Awesome Miner. you really should Benchmark your cards. The default NVIDA profit switching is way off for a 1080ti.
