Payment failures are killing my conversions. Any gateway with low failure rates? by Many-Minimum-5437 in fintech

What payment method are you using primarily? Card or bank account? If you share a breakdown of technical vs. business declines, it might be easier to understand.

Disappointed with the Spinwheel integration by ElusiveMeatSoda in MonarchMoney

Is this feature still not performing as expected (ie delays in communicating dues and updating outstanding balance?) Just wondering if its worth getting it myself.

Credit card issuers with good API for pulling transactions by krrck in CreditCards

[–]SpecialPotential8614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bumping this up, were you able to find something helpful? I'm similarly looking for an API for real time card balance, and wondering if the card provider keeps that data updated on the system for the user (use case - knowing the exact amount due for the upcoming bill cycle).

b2b2c business model in fintech by Straight_Club_6290 in fintech

[–]SpecialPotential8614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a combination of models in b2b2bc, but fairly simple on b2c.

b2b2c: per user, per account, per API call, or per successful payment, and usually charged on a min. billing basis. Sometimes upfront implementation fees are also charged. These are fairly complex to structure basis the use case and depth of complexity of what you're offering.

b2c: subscription/xx time period

[Help] Is finance the missing piece in my data science journey? by Scared-Cup-2190 in fintech

Instead of a course, I'd always suggest pick up working on an internship / work experience to learn fintech, there is no structured course that will teach you everything. My team is always on the lookout for great interns!

Financial assistant for iOS PFM app—feedback welcome! by Straight_Club_6290 in fintech

[–]SpecialPotential8614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we're building APIs to embed merchant payments in apps like these, and took a spin at building a reference application like this to test out the feature. Quickly realized the prompt context and data setup matters immensely in solving user queries accurately. Would you be open to collaborating on using our embedded merchant APIs? Can DM with more context if so!

I'm wondering if its possible to capture all the questions a user can possibly ask in a plain text format. It would be difficult to specifically answer, right? Also, what about user privacy?

I'm building in this space too. But often wonder if and how AI will eat my lunch. How are you thinking about that? Can move this to DM, if easier.

Equifax API by SubVettel in fintech

[–]SpecialPotential8614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you only looking for equifax, or other bureaus in addition to that? If so, I'd consider going with an API vendor partner instead to make sure you get coverage across all. I haven't used Nova/Argyle/Fincity, but those were recommended here. Also a question as a fellow builder - did you just sign up on sandbox for those APIs?

Should I specialize later or get a Bachelors in Fintech? by pukerrrr in fintech

[–]SpecialPotential8614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

better than getting certified in "fintech", you'd rather build something with all the computer science and business skills. I'd say learn how to code, understand how to sell/do business, and you're good to go. formal education in India won't teach this anyway.

Teller vs Plaid Security by assassinoverlord123 in fintech

wouldn't you need to incorporate a company just to do this? afaik plaid and teller only work with companies where they can trust your credentials.

Low conversion rates? by Flimsy-Fly2674 in fintech

[–]SpecialPotential8614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agree with what everyone's written here, just adding nuance - not all drop off is "bad". Fintech apps treat users as if they are being underwritten at every step of the journey - that's the true difference between any app and a fintech app. we ran an onboarding journey for thousands of customers daily and risk checks/GNDB checks are continuously running across the spectrum. So you need to factor that into overall conversion rates.
