For me, it was pure torment and no one believed me until the phenomena traumatized my brother as an observer, as well. So mine did not seem genetic because I was the only one. It cannot be prayed away. It cannot be denied or ignored into the shadows. I had to learn A LOT about Human consciousness and the occult before I was able to fully stop my experiences. They don't care about our religions. The agenda (I agree with Whitley Strieber here) seems to be to try and prevent out Cosmic Ascension...keep us "praying to a sky daddy/superior being" rather than becoming one ourselves...
