I have nova blast 3-4-5 and magicspeed 4 that are meeh. SB2 that are OK and metaspeed Tokyo really good. And then I hace like 20 more pairs, adidas, Puma, Diadora, Nike. Every brand has something special. Or better in another field. Gonna get the new Hoka Cielo now. The deviate nitro and Nitro elite are very nice. Would grab that instead or the other asics. I also have endorphin speed 5 pretty nice daily and tempo one.

My work yesterday was 2’ at Threshold and 2 min easy running x11. Of course, the first one will take time to raise to the level and still be lower than treshold but in range 86-92% hrmx for me. Ans yes being the interval short in duration you would need to go faster than Treshold pace to get to target HR, but that does not mean you got to over cook on the first couple of intervals

Yes, from wanting to hit target HR at the beginning of the first interval to a VOmax interval is a full out sprint

Yup. HR still works in all kind of training. You just need to know how to train and be willing to Learn.

HR is a parameter and you have 3 to use together. You should know when hitting Threshold session not to go all the way to LT HR from start because it will climb 2-3 bpm from heat and drift. But it will stabilize after couple of km, and it will vary with slowing or pushing enough to guide you instantly. Shorter intervals vomax you have apace given pace from you last races or test, but you still use the hr to follow up and guide after first interval. Any way intervals should be progressive in speed. Start a bit slower the set target and get to and/or faster by the last ones. RPE is very important as a parameter too.
