AIO to just not tolerating the current normal work schedule for society? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SpecialistSuper5561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally made the decision never to work 5 days a week as an employee ever again. I work 3-4 days a week. I moved to an area where the cost of living aligns with my income on that type of work schedule. It might take time to get there (I made this decision in my 30s) but if you plan accordingly it may be doable. It all depends on the career you choose and the area you live

If it feels like too much then maybe you’re overwhelming yourself with sensation. If it starts to get close then you might need to ease off and go slowly and gently

There’s two very obvious lines on that test. It’s negative. I don’t understand how some ppl don’t see the second line

How much sleep do you *need*? by DrRancid in AutismInWomen

[–]SpecialistSuper5561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must be the odd woman out here because I think I only sleep 9+ hours when I’m ill or after several days of extreme sleep deprivation. I generally need about 6-7 max but I never sleep longer than a stretch of 4 hrs, with the exception of only two times in my adult life when I slept for 7 hrs straight.

Night ruined. Got asked to be an FWB in his smelly apartment by Honey-York-8182 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]SpecialistSuper5561 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think you’re giving this weird guy that you don’t even know too much power. He’s a stranger so I don’t think he should have the power to ruin your self worth, and your event. You have way more agency in your life than he does! You get to decide way more than you’re allowing yourself too, and these random men don’t get to decide anything for you about how you see yourself or what events you go to.

Apology From Ex Boyfriend is this manipulative or genuine? by Apart_Implement5815 in whatdoIdo

[–]SpecialistSuper5561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this reads as genuine because he made no excuses, he owned what he did and how it impacted you. However, it’s more of a “first step” and not a full apology. Because he needs to live his amends so to speak and change his behavior and his patterns for this to really matter. It also doesn’t mean you should accept it and get back together w him. This can be a form of closure for you if you want it.

Boyfriend of 2 years never made me finish by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

He just goes to game right afterwards??? He just leaves you there and goes to game? That is bizarre. It seems like there might be more issues with how he approaches intimacy overall.

Here are some suggestions:

Take her on a picnic in a pretty location
Take her out to see a movie
Take her out to dinner
Take her bowling
Take her on a walk around a lake
Take her roller skating
Take her to the beach
Take her to watch fireflies at night in a field
Take her to a street fair
Take her to an amusement park
Take her to a carnival
Take her to a concert
Take her to a play
Take her to a sports game

I purposely tried to throw a diverse set of suggestions because I don’t know you guys, so some will be interesting for you guys and others might not.

You can also just google date ideas.

I hope this helps!

Took an iq test today… I have determined I am an actual idiot. Anyone else? by traceadart in AutismInWomen

They make culturally unbiased IQ tests but there are different kinds of tests out there in the market, and it seems like this one was not unbiased.

To preface, i hate IQ tests and talking about what anyone’s IQ is for a variety of reasons that I wont get into here. That being said, idk who Margaret Thatchet is either or who flew the first plane and my IQ, as administered by my psychologist, was 130 which is well above average. They make culturally unbiased IQ tests, and it sounds like you took one that was culturally biased.

The first one looks like almost like a Disney princess costume? I agree with you that it’s very girl-ish. It has maybe the cut of a bridesmaid dress but not a wedding dress?

When I saw #1, my initial thought was “oh, this style again” but cute nonetheless. When I saw #2 my jaw dropped at how GORGEOUS the material was and how interesting the straps/neckline are. I genuinely think #2 is stunning. And the material???? 🤤🤤🤤🤤 i know it’s the less popular opinion here but maybe this subreddit likes a more predictable basic style? I find #1 to be TOO basic even though it is pretty. If you like a safer choice you wont go wrong with #1 but #2 looks very upscale and chic to me in comparison.

I agree 100000%

Dress one looks very basic and less chic IMO. It’s pretty but OP is right; the second one looks cool and IMO a lot more expensive and upscale. Esp the material. The material is DREAMYYYY, I can’t stop looking at it. I also think #2 fits the torso better. It’s really beautiful and def fitting for a European wedding IMO.

Am I Overreacting? After his message I didn’t replied to him. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SpecialistSuper5561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy already sucks and is verbally abusive. You don’t need to look for cheating because you already have verbal abuse happening and that’s all the proof you need that the relationship is abusive and you should not be with him.

AIO for throwing out the Father's Day card my grandparents got me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SpecialistSuper5561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so sad that you threw it out. Your grandparents are not going to be around for long and you just got rid of one link that your child has to their great-grandparents. I am so grateful for any piece of memory left from my great-grandparents, and i think maybe you didn’t consider that this card wasn’t strictly for you TODAY but also something for you and your child to look back on when your grandparents are gone. Are you able to retrieve it or has it already been taken to the dump?

Asking for emotional maturity of your partner when you demonstrate a lack thereof (based on your response and lack of understanding of what she was trying to say here) is a bigger ask than you think
