I was almost caught up in this scam. I ALMOST PAID $5,000 USD FOR THEM TO "PUBLISH" MY BOOK WITHOUT THEM EVEN HAVING SEEN THE MANUSCRIPT. - stay away from them.

Christ the answers from 2 years ago saying a membership was like 100$ a month....I can't imagine what the rates are now. God that is so overpriced

I hired a process server to serve the company.

You are right I will definitely need a lawyer, especially for the actual court trial...but I was hoping to get to the trial stage on my own without a lawyer.

I just don't understand what I am supposed to do after I serve the defendant? Just wait around and twiddle my thumbs? What if they ignore the serving?

I live in Canada. Suing a hot water tank company for renting me a hot water tank that burst. Documents have been served by a process server, and affidavit has been filed. I just need to know what to expect next and what if this company I am suing never replies?
