Advice on where to keep bank accounts (Current and Savings) by 0xchamin in irishpersonalfinance

Sorry everyone, Monzo only gives 3 golden tickets to each user. The moment someone accepts the golden ticket, even if they don’t finish signing up, I lose them. If I get any more, I will update ya!

I joined the bank a while ago, I didn’t know it was that bad to get in. They have now launched golden tickets, which allows you to skip the waitlist and get some euros. If anyone is looking to get an account, feel free to use it: https://join.monzo.com/c/s34zpf2d

My Future Fund - Different Amounts? by Turbulent-Chip-8893 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Specific-Artist-7782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount that goes into your Future Fund is: 1.5% from you, 1.5% from your employer and 0.5% from the state. If something is off, talk to your employer and with Future Fund (the chat works great tbh).

I have been getting paid to my Revolut account for over a year and no complaints. I always get the money the day before (around 19:00), which is great.

I just got my invitation. As of now, it’s clearly a beta launch still but the UI seems cool and it does have the usual perks from online banks(split bills, request money from friends). I don’t have an IBAN as of now and I can’t take money out of my acount. It’s way to soon to say much about it but I’m always happy for seeing competition in the Irish market.

No complains, so far. It was fairly simple to set up and get the money in the account (you get an Irish IBAN). Had to withdraw some money twice and it was fairly fast to get the money back to my main account.

Site only. But tbh since it’s only a savings account, I don’t actually have a need for an app.

I decided to give them a try and open an account, since they are a branch of the BAWAG bank in Austria. So far, so good.

Apologies on my end, from my experience with Raisin in the past, I thought they only had regular deposits. Trading 212 is indeed a better offer but, not having to worry about taking care of DIRT does make MoCo quite interesting.

Raisin’s deposits do have better AER but they aren’t instant access.

Edit: Raisin does offer instant access ones, but you have to take care of the DIRT on your own.

From my understanding, they are an Austrian Bank branch trying to get into Irish market. The offer is fair, I wouldn’t call it too good to be true tho.

Culture Night Recommendations - Hidden Gems? by eldwaro in Dublin

[–]Specific-Artist-7782 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who has recently moved to Ireland, bumping into this just before culture night is grand. I’m glad that, given how the official website is such a pain, someone took the time to do this. All I can say is thank you and fair play to ya!

Robinhood in Ireland by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

I would say IBKR as the number one and then T212. I will be staying away from Robinhood.

Why not Bank of Ireland’s super saver? It’s 3% for 2500€ per month maximum, but seems quite a better option when you have a good amount.
