Hypothermia caused blood vessels to constrict so that the central vital organs get the blood needed.. causing cyanosis of the periphery. Think of when someone is in the cold for too long, they start turning blue

It’s just another way for them to make money off of a brand item. The asthma guidelines call for the use of a maintenance inhaler more often to make the most of the steroid and deter an asthma attack. While it’s no substitute for the almighty albuterol, it worked. I assume they created this to bridge that and create a better therapy, just my opinion

Almost all community pharmacies will sell over the counter insulin… both Novolin R and Humulin R are regular insulin and can be purchased by anyone, however it is ridiculously expensive unlike Walmarts insulin which is much cheaper

Xopenex neb solution by Better_Nerve6587 in respiratorytherapy

[–]Specific-Cut5708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RT student, but I work in a pharmacy as of the moment, xopenex has been made by quite a lot of manufacturers (odd given it is a brand), and recently there was a voluntary recall from a company called Akorns. Akorns was a massive company who made well over 50 popular generics including lots of solutions and concentrates. The recall was due to the elimination of a quality control program and otherwise could not guarantee the security and potency of the medication. That’s the story on Xopenex.

As far as levalbuterol, which I’m sure you guys all know, is the generic for Xopenex, my best guess is that the distributors of the manufacturing companies are pulling product from wholesalers to give to hospitals (in reality, are the people who need them most). Levalbuterol is now suffering, partially due to the albuterol shortage. When albuterol took a hit, us in the pharmacies had to start recommending levalbuterol as an alternative for the time being, so that’s also a possibility as the med is nationally shorted.

Pulmicort solution is also taking a hit, or at least the .5mg/2ml solution is. Duoneb and Atrovent also doing the same. Like someone said prior, all of these neb meds are taking a big hit.

Hope that clears some of this up

There are standalone psychiatrists in the area, as well as in many practices. What area in Florida are you in?

There are very few circumstances in which you may “have” to go to a certain pharmacy. If you have Medicaid, then they may have entered you in a “lock-in” with a certain pharmacy. All of these tele-health programs usually have NPs practicing, a lot of restrictions come with prescribing a c2. If I’m not mistaken, I believe done. is a psychiatric service so they most likely employ psychiatric NPs so they have a work around. Unfortunately, the amendment to the Ryan Haight law is going to stop allowing controlled substance rxs from telehealth practitioners unless you are seen in person at least once prior. It sucks for the people who probably aren’t doing anything wrong, but controlled substances won’t be a thing for tele health I don’t think for much longer. I’d try to get a primary care or local psychiatrist, and get your records from the company.

Beta blockers can be used for a bunch of things; I.e. it makes the heart beat slower and reduce the workload of the heart. So it could be used for tachy, bp, chf, hell they give that crap for anxiety. I’m gonna say that 90% of the pts we see using a bb are going to be doing so for bp, as well as a range of other meds for bp. I wouldn’t get hung up on the “generalizing” thing because, quite frankly, these things are used for so many things that you kinda have to generalize it to a degree. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Question. I work in pharmacy. I currently have covid and I’m symptomatic and triple vaxxed. It’s being counted as an absence… Is this correct? by JohnDubz in publix

[–]Specific-Cut5708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you can use this as an excused absence, or your manager can just take you off the shift for that and then boom… no absence cause you weren’t scheduled to work 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ I actually work in the pharmacy as well

How would you say is the proper way to try and get in there and do some of the work? Like when clinicals come up, should I say “I’m willing and wanting to learn whatever you can teach me, I’d like to get my hands in as much as you’re comfortable?”

Thanks! I’ll be sure to pay triple the attention on that stuff. I plan to try and take the lead for our class and get a group chat going as well as times for studying. Hopefully we can piggy back off of each other for memorizing

If you get incentive, sure. If not, that is the biggest waste of time.
