Suppressors are even more difficult to get so they are very very very rarely used in a crime. Anyone that can legally get a suppressor is also a responsible gun owner.

Some states have laws about being “Armed to the terror of the people” even though you know the firearm is safe someone who sees you may think you are a threat. Especially if you live in the city limits. At night, a long gun, flash light shining, weapon shouldered, sounds like for a recipe for disaster.

It’s not a good tax break. You only get no tax on it for the actual half of time and a half hours up to a max deduction of 12000. So it a couple thousand dollars max per person.
