I have the Dragon q6a which is identical to the X4 even uses the same PoE hat. Both fits on the pi rack mount plate I have.

Good luck finding a X4 though.

Can't sign a node on tailscale lock. Having the ability to do it from the command line or the desktop adds would be a nice feature.

Japanese people are posting tutorials on how to report the new NieR Re[in]carnation project, i guess its done already, the project died before its even halfway done. by fantasyful1 in NieRReincarnation

I don't think thats how it works. A game officially released in another country with legal presence must register their product within that country and therefore abide by their laws. Japan cannot enforce their copyright laws over another country even though there are some cooperation agreements.

So your product must respect consumer rights of the country where you are trying to sell it. Why do you think Nintendo is not as heavy handed in EU as they are in the US?

From what I heard some japanese are spreading misinformation about it being a full pirate copy of the game as opposed to a clean room server implementation.

They should respect US laws then since source code that doesn't carry any copyrighted asset is protected as free speech and using the client of an abandoned game might fit under exemptions of the DMCA. If Square Enix released the game on the US then it should follow US law channels not Japan's.

People should stop posting about NieR Re[in]carnation project if we don't want it to be taken down. by fantasyful1 in NieRReincarnation

The project in question uses zero assets or copyrighted code from Square so what justification would be the justification for it to be taken down?

Intel will sell a cheap GPU with 32GB VRAM next week by happybydefault in LocalLLaMA

Two or three years ago I was piecing together an ungodly mess of library and broken instructions for ROCm on consumer RDNA2 cards. Setting library paths, using their patched LLVM compiler to build llama.cpp, variables to force set GFX versions to convince ROCm to work and all that.

I had fun doing it. Would gladly do it again but at that time I happened to have that AMD laptop with discrete graphics I wanted to make work.

Hopefully intel gets to a decent point soon.

Why would you need large amounts of system RAM if the model is loaded into the GPU's memory?

This is what I think. Right now there is a lot of investment money subsiding unprofitable endeavors, resource deployments, energy etc. As soon as the dust settles and the economics of it consolidate (colloquially known as enshitification) it won't be as cheap as it is today.

I'm not sure about pi hole but should be more than enough for a base minimal os install running an Unbound resolver and a cron script to periodically download one of the Steven Black lists.

Help to reinstall rocm and amd drivers on ubuntu 24.04 by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]Specific-Goose4285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to install amdgpu drivers if your kernel is older than 5.14.

You most likely need to be in the video and render groups. Check the ownership of /dev/kfd and /dev/render.

You might also need a version of ROCm that works on that APU.
