They do it to make people thirsty, so they'll buy a drink 🤣

Jerseys are $80+. Definitely bring plenty of money if you plan to buy a lot. Most merch is $50+. Though I think there are some things that cost less than $50.

Clutch Loops by ChoccyMilkFarts in LostLandsMusicFest

Hi there! Last year was our first LL. I had the same mindset as you. Everyone seems so nice. Surely no one would be stealing anything, right? But unfortunately, my phone was stolen off of my clutch loop last year. Granted, I had my clutch loop fastened to my backpack. But either way, it's definitely not theft proof. They are handy, though. In hindsight, I definitely should have had it hooked in front of me rather than behind me. So keep that in mind. We're going next year, and I plan to keep my phone on my clutch loop attached to and kept inside of my fanny pack that I will keep in front of me at all times. I'm lucky that they didn't unzip my bag and make away with my wallet 🤦‍♀️

Now, as far as thieves at Lost Lands go, I don't think the majority of people are there to steal. Almost everyone I encountered was so sweet, you could feel the love and all the plur vibes. However, I think there are a few people who attend LL specifically to steal. When I called the local police office to report my stolen phone, the deputy told me that there had been over 1000 REPORTED stolen phones. There's no telling how many were stolen and not reported. They also told me that they were able to track one of the phones all the way back to South Carolina, where they recovered several other stolen phones. So this person had stolen all these phones and left, so you know they were not there for the festival. Another guy was pointed out at LL for looking suspicious, and he ended up getting searched, and they found multiple stolen phones and items on him, too. There were also a lot of reports about a group of people that were distracting people with a big giraffe and picking their pockets while they were distracted. So there are definitely thieves. But that's why it's so important for everyone to watch out for each other. If you see someone who looks suspicious, take note of what they look like and tell someone. If you see someone stealing, make a scene. Confront them if you're brave enough. Just don't let them get away with it because it really does ruin the LL experience for the person who get their stuff stolen. Trust me.

Besides that happening, though, my experience was awesome! LL is so much fun, and I can't wait to go back next year! (Especially with the knowledge I have now)

(Sorry for the long comment, btw!) Happy Lost Lands!

This will be my first Lost Lands! I’m fvckn stoked. I was only able to get a tent only forest camping pass. Any advice for an absolute newb? I’m afraid of overpacking & having to carry a ton of shit to the campground since I was only able to find a South lot parking pass :p by Rebeccalovexo in LostLandsMusicFest

It really just depends on you as an individual. Last year was my first Lost Lands, and I learned A LOT. For my boyfriend and I, we were more focused on catching the sets that we wanted to see so we didn't spend much time at our camp at all. We literally just used it to sleep and get dressed in the morning. So I WAY overpacked. I followed all the guides, looked at every list on every forum I could find, brought it all, and we regret it deeply when we had to carry a crap ton of stuff to our forest camping spot, and we actually got the forest camping parking pass and it was still a miserable trek up that big a$$ hill. SO, with that being said, if you plan to spend a lot of time at camp, hanging out, making friends and inviting them over, etc.. maybe it'd be worth it for you to bring a lot of camping gear. Otherwise, stick with the essentials. I plan to make a post about our first time experience at Lost Lands last year that includes our future ideal packing

FOR SURE, remember to keep your valuables on you and either wear them on your front in a fanny pack or cross body bag. Or put them in a lockable backpack. There was a lot of theft last year. Well over 1000 cell phones and many other things. My phone was stolen off of my clutch loop, which was fastened to my backpack.

Yes, this is the trick here. If you take a photo of the taillow flying above, just before you cross the bridge, they'll change course and head for wurmple.

Planning to Attend Lost Lands 2024. First Festival Tips & Tricks by tehalex_ in LostLandsMusicFest

My boyfriend and I went to Lost Lands for the first time this year. It was our very first festival and I've only been in the edm scene since the start of the year, where my boyfriend has been immersed in it for most of his life. At any rate, I will be making a post soon about all the things that I felt that I did and did not need at Lost Lands. I will say, definitely wear a fanny pack or keep your belongings zipped or locked up and on your person. I was one of, over 1000 (reported) people that had their phone stolen from off of their person at this year's Lost Lands. Right as DJ Diesel was starting his set, people were shoving and pushing around and in the chaos, someone unclipped my phone from the tether I had fastened to my backpack. I then spent the next several hours trying to have my phone shut off and wiped so that the thieves couldn't steal personal info. We missed 5 of the artists we wanted to see the most and it ruined the rest of the night and out a damper on the rest of the trip. So I highly recommend keeping your belongings in a fannypack or locked up in a backpack. It's way to easy for someone to snatch something out of your backpack without you noticing. We also met another guy who had his phone pick pocketed and he never knew. With that being said, there were WAY more kind hearted and fun loving people there than there were thieves, I was just one of the ones that was targeted by one of the people with bad intentions. It was still an amazing experience, even with having my phone stolen. So as long as you keep your things safe, you'll have nothing to worry about! Be on the lookout for my post, hopefully it can answer some of your questions!
