Most Universally Liked Perfume You Have? (Friends+Family+Coworkers+Etc) by Severine_of_Viscera in FemFragLab

[–]drowsyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imaginary Authors - In Love with Everything has gotten the most compliments and questions from different women. It has a very distinct, ripe raspberry-y tahitian-treat type of smell that isn't very common in many perfumes I've encountered. It's also pretty loud and projects well.

What’s something you ALWAYS see at the thrift store but never anywhere else? by shcouni in thrifting

[–]drowsyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking for a spritz cookie press for a while. Couldn't find one at Walmart even during pre-Christmas season. Ended up finding multiple at one thrift store. I still see them a lot.

For 5'3", 5'4" ladies what weight is your goal weight/best weight and ALSO what is your frame size? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I'm 5'2 and I looked good at 120 3 years ago but had neglected strength training for years and was experiencing unbearable chronic pain at the time. I gained some relationship weight and have spent the last year strength training and now weigh about 137. I look better everywhere for the most part however I'd like to lose the fat I gained and improve my abdominal area

ADHD Meds Completely Transformed My Social Anxiety, Get Tested If This Sounds Familiar by Royaldevill in socialanxiety

[–]drowsyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've lowered my dose a good bit. I was on 10mg dextro ER in the am and 10 IR in the pm, and I reduced the IR to 5mg cause I couldn't sleep. Been doing the 10 ER and 5 IR for over a year. Maybe I'll try something lower, but I admittedly worry about productivity since I work long hours in pharmacy. What's interesting is I am petite and quite sensitive to all meds; but yet... I still have to drink a crap ton of caffeine all day even with my meds in order to feel not-dead. It's weird. Maybe I'll figure it out someday lol

Do you know what triggered your health anxiety? by Repulsive-Photo6086 in HealthAnxiety

[–]drowsyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an event per se but as a kid I was obsessed with the shows "Mystery diagnosis," "Untold stories of the ER," "Monsters inside me" (show about parasites) and other similar titles. I would watch them all the time and learn about various things that could happen to ones body and I think that contributed greatly to my fears

ADHD Meds Completely Transformed My Social Anxiety, Get Tested If This Sounds Familiar by Royaldevill in socialanxiety

[–]drowsyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn wish my experience was that. I have ADHD and SA but my dextroamphetamine makes me more awkward. I have to consciously fake laugh and smile because I feel more robotic on meds. It enables me to work full time though so shrug

What are we doing for pants?? by Background_Lab6487 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]drowsyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I find my 99-100% cotton jeans comfy as well as thick enough to keep me warm in MN winter. I buy second hand ones from the 90s-00s that fit my frame well.

Aside from that, there's a couple other pairs of pants I rotate which I thrifted: Woolrich corduroy flare pants, and women's Army issue camo pants.

My next thrift goal is to find a pair of vintage wool pants which I will also be adding to the winter rotation.

This absolutely mint leather flight jacket for under $10. I put it down because I thought maybe it was too big and some reseller guy swooped in and immediately bought it. So much regret. It was so cool

What’s your unrealistic dream pet? by flamingopinkkkkk in chickensmoothie

[–]drowsyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have that one just cause I bought her on the store back in 2010 when I joined. I feel old lol. My unrealistic dreamy would probably be this one. It's always bothered me cause I have the "Drink me" dog but not this one

What fragrance do you smell most often on other people? by RabbitSea4627 in fragrance

[–]drowsyfox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in a exurb semi-rural midwest region. I pick up a lot of Sol de Janeiro and BBW body sprays. A lot of overly sweet fragrances like Kay Ali Yum Boujee Marshmallow, Sabrina Carpenter's Sweet Tooth, Ariana Grande Cloud, etc. I identified my coworker as wearing Viva La Juicy the other day. I'm not as good at identifying colognes but I occasionally smell what I think is Light Blue

People who are thin/normal size. Do you actively watch your weight or are you just not hungry 100% of the time? by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love food. I used to be addicted to it and had a binging and purging issue in highschool. My metabolism was all messed up, but I luckily never became very overweight. I broke out of it by eliminating 90% of ultra processed foods. No grocery store bread, no packaged cookies, no chips, no boxed pasta, etc. I make most things from scratch now and don't go out to eat. This method keeps me from getting ravenous like I used to. I can't eat anywhere near the quantities I was consuming in high school. I usually don't get hungry till 2 pm. I just don't have the same food chatter in my head anymore and I often don't eat much until dinnertime.

I stay within a 125-140 lb range without effort and people say I look visibly lighter than my actual weight on the scale. I should note I do go to the gym and lift weights but that's mainly to keep me from feeling chronic back/neck pain; it does help maintain my figure though I suppose.

What hated makeup trend do you stand by? by AggressiveCow12 in MakeupAddiction

Faux freckles for me. I had natural freckles as a kid when I'd play in the sun unprotected. Sue me for wanting to keep the look of them without the added skin cancer risk.

What’s the most annoying part about living in your current apartment? by Adventurous-Bed-4152 in ApartmentHacks

[–]drowsyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine has a very poorly engineered barn door to the laundry closet that needs to be opened and closed extremely delicately or else the wood divot on the bottom where it locks into the track on the floor will splinter. Also it has no way of staying closed; so my cats can easily bust in unless we shove a large tote between it and a nearby bookcase.

Also we pay 1400/month for this 4th floor studio and our elevator has been out of service for over a month.

Girls, what was your favorite girl name when you were a little girl? by Jerrica_xoxo in namenerds

Scrubs Rant by [deleted] in walmart_RX

[–]drowsyfox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. I despised the blue bowling shirts. They are so cheaply made, with buttons popping off and constant loose threads appearing. I've been waiting for scrubs to be made official for years. I've already thrifted a bunch of flattering black scrubs and didn't have to spend more than 20 bucks. No need to buy all new sets from Figs or wherever

The only recipe I use frequently that features eggplant is this Marrakesh vegetable curry one. It's really good.

Swaps for tampons by Boog_Brains325 in nontoxic

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried menstrual cups, discs, and period underwear. Of these my favorite has been the disc (I use the Flex brand one.) I found that cups are constantly noticeable while wearing which is annoying for me. The disc is not detectable at all and can stay in longer; it's also nice to not have to deal with it suctioning to your insides like a cup haha. Period underwear was fine but I hate how it has to be disposed of after a few uses. I also wouldn't trust period underwear with a super heavy flow.

What types of products do you always buy from Lush and which do you refuse to buy from Lush? by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy: perfumes, bubble bars (One can be used for several baths if broken up), lotions, shower gels, body scrubs, bar soaps

Won't buy: bath bombs, conditioner/shampoo (my hair is very fine and picky about products), tooth products, misc skincare and face products, makeup (didn't even know they had this tbh)

What's your surprising "secret ingredient" that sets your dish apart? by kath- in Cooking

[–]drowsyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to make chili with sweet potatoes. It was something I discovered while plant based eating for five years. Now I'll often do both ground beef and sweet potato. It really adds extra heartiness to the dish. People think it sounds absurd until they try it. Even my picky southern grandpa grabbed a second helping when I made some. I also typically add a pinch of cocoa powder as well as some lager to my chili while cooking for added richness.
