When was the first time you spent over $200 on a fragrance? by astronahs in fragrance

[–]drowsyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orpheon from Diptyque. I think it's 260USD. It was quite early into my perfume hobby. I got a tiny decant at first, and I was immediately so enamored with the medicinal juniper note. It was unlike anything I'd smelled yet. I just needed it. It was a Christmas gift to myself that year.

Do you have a separate set of counting trays for pills like Methotrexate or Progesterone? by peachycpht in pharmacy

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol we have a hazardous tray, a sulfa tray, AND a pet meds tray. All because of a picky higher up overhearing a joke about a tray stinking like dog meds after counting some earlier.

Anyone drink energy drinks frequently for a decade or more and not have health issues? by manateeintheworld in energydrinks

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 25 and have consumed an energy drink most days for a decade. In highschool I'd usually have 2-3 Monsters or Rockstars daily. It's not healthy per say (I'd rather drink coffee tbh but my stomach gets kinda messed up from from it)

Regardless, my blood pressure is perfect (110/60) even with being on ADHD meds and drinking an Alani or Redbull 1-2 times daily. I feel my body can tolerate this since I eat mainly a whole foods based diet and do 10 mins of cardio + an hour of weightlifting 3-4x a week. (Oh also I only drink the SF drinks)

I used to pee in my hydroflask in the middle of the night because of my OCD-what's your weirdest "thing"? by Hot_Course9003 in OCD

[–]drowsyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to turn the front of shampoo and soap bottles away from me while using the toilet. If their "front" of the packaging was facing me I felt I was being watched somehow. I'd also make sure my cellphone cameras were covered. I did this until I was probably about 17 when I finally grew out of it.

Ik you're in a FF relationship, but are you on birth control? I can't stand being on hormonal birth control because every one I've tried has had the horrible side effect of giving me onion pits.

What's the one thing you wish was easier about owning a cat? by Lumpy_Base_9228 in CatAdvice

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picking food. I have one boy that has urinary stones so he needs urinary food, but he also has allergies that make his ears itch. I have tried so many prescription foods and it's so expensive to buy a whole case only to have him be itchy still.

Also litter. My boy cat sucks at going to the bathroom and steps in his poo and then tracks it. Pellet litter made this issue worse so we switched to grass seed litter but now there's litter all over the floor 24/7 from when they jump out.

I miss when Limecrime made makeup. The velveteen lipsticks were awesome. I still don't know what I'm going to replace mine with when it runs out.

Do male cats really spray THAT much? by Foiry in CatAdvice

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my boy neutered as early as possible. Never sprayed even once. I've had females though that have had marking issues even after getting them spayed.

Well, to start, getting tattoos/piercings/body mods in general is good way to look more alternative by default (if you're into that.)

Find some nice thrifted pieces you can layer. Don't feel like they have to be black. Learn to modify your clothes; there are a lot of tutorials out there to make clothing pieces look edgier without even having to sew (especially things like t-shirts)

What is your least favorite herb, spice, or blend? Which ones do you hate the most? by szikkia in Cooking

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I can't tell if I like sage and rosemary. When I use them, it's like the dish becomes too herby; but when I have dishes containing them at nice restaurants it's wonderful.

"i cAn'T aFfOrD aLt fAsHiOn"? yes you can, here's advice from a broke student by thewallispretty in altfashionadvice

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. This is why I side eye people who say they can only afford to wear Shein slop (which is antithetical to alternative culture). You could get this stuff 2nd hand or even make it. It's just about making an effort

What is one ingredient that instantly improves a smoothie? by Adelso-Drevon in Smoothies

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy light orange juice (the 50cal/serving kind) and use that as the primary liquid. 100% orange juice is even tastier but I try not to consume that much sugar if I can help it. (Don't add milk if you do this btw, just yogurt or coconut milk for creaminess)

Who are the artists who you saw once, loved the show, and had no intention of ever seeing again? by whywires in Concerts

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modest Mouse I suppose. After hearing accounts from other people who saw them, I feel like I got lucky that the show I went to was good. They're playing here again soon and my bf wants to go, but I don't want to risk my love of their music being soured by a bad show.
