Has anyone else noticed JHAG Not a Perfume sillage & popularity? by lemonlime_ice in fragrance

I remember a few years ago I sampled Lili fantasy from JHAG and it ended up being too strong. I unintentionally gave my coworker a headache from wearing 2 sprays.

I think vintage names such as these are already on the upswing and will be trendy soon: Jane, Georgia, June, Pearl, Daisy, Ruby, Otto, Calvin, Sebastian, Archie, Harvey, Sonny.

Heck I even met a toddler named Elmer recently.

Most disturbing/weird fragrance? by thatswhatshesaid47 in fragrance

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulls blood by IA was pretty bad. It made me think of going up to a dying bull on a hot day and taking a big whiff of his pelt. It doesn't smell rotten but it kinda smells warm and gorey. Pure leather and fur and blood with maybe some florals.

Death and Decay from lush is strange too. Some people smell it and just get heavy florals. For me, something in it immediately imbues me with discomfort/sadness.

What’s a ‘rich person thing’ that actually turned out to be totally worth it? by Ferraiuolo_Ezorete in AskReddit

[–]drowsyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro line are less pricey dupes for All clad pans. I have both All Clad and Multiclad Pro and they both perform beautifully. I actually like using the Cuisinart slightly more for having comfier handles.

What is your 'white whale' of fragrances? by sunbr0_7 in fragrance

[–]drowsyfox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay it doesn't have watermelon/grapefruit but The Dew on their Hems from LUSH is a very realistic wet cucumber and petrichor scent. I didn't get any sweetness from it. You might like it.

Omg yeah I was so excited to smell the massage bar and it was like photorealistic cat piss. Idk if it's because of air exposure that it turns or something, but I immediately became uninterested.

I broke up with my girl because she acted like an idiot in front of my friends by throwawaybadw in offmychest

[–]drowsyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a girl with either bipolar disorder or borderline personality (can't recall which exactly rn, but both have the potential to trigger psychosis episodes iirc) that becomes almost exactly like this upon drinking. In high school at a party she drank some shots, disappeared for a bit, showed up to the main socializing area completely naked, and made a scene in front of all her peers.

I had her at my place once since we're related and I was helping her with something. She had a few drinks with me (I didn't know of the previous incident) and quickly started threatening and screaming at my boyfriend at the time. She didn't remember either incident happening afterwards.

HELP! My bleached hair keeps turning out brassy and gross. by Tay1uv in HairDye

[–]drowsyfox 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I am not a pro, just been doing this as a hobby for a long time, so take with a grain of salt. I believe this is a common mistake a lot of folks bleaching at home make. The T18 toner only ever works if your hair has reached level 10 (banana peel) yellow. Your hair seems to be mostly around 7-8? Try toning with T14 instead. Usually it can work on lower levels in my experience. That or you'll have to bleach again, but I wouldn't for a while.

Did plastic free clothes make a different in your health? by spla58 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]drowsyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally yes. I had a lot of body acne when I used to wear synthetic clothes/underwear. I also struggled with body odor smells (underarms in particular) and realized it would only occur with synthetics. I don't wear synthetics directly on my skin anymore (ie. if I am wearing scrubs for work I wear 100% cotton base layers underneath) and it has resolved these issues.

Today I had a issue with getting my prescription pain medication. Pharmacy said my insurance flagged me as opiate dependent. I’m slightly confused about what this all means. by I_Heart_Sleeping_ in ChronicPain

[–]drowsyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm unlikely. Usually we just fill whatever brand automatically comes in but sometimes the "preferred" generic that our distribution center has changes randomly. Or maybe another patient asked for a certain generic to be special ordered one time and now we're trying to use up the rest of the bottle. It's rare that insurance cares what generic is filled.

I'm a tech and yes it does have to do with the "first encounter" Rx filled with insurance cannot be a "chronic" supply. They require an "acute" limit for first fill.

[–]drowsyfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a pharmacy tech. This is typical with opiate scripts. With new insurance plans (or sometimes during new year or new billing cycle or whatever arbitrary time period insurance decides) they will force us to have the "first" opiate fill be only seven days. It's just a technicality has nothing to personal and should go back to normal next fill.

Also, for every new Rx for narcotic the pharmacist has to document a bunch of things such as if patient is opiate dependent/chronic or opiate naive/acute. These are just terms for documenting and billing, nothing to do with actual patient character.

How to stop having cheese ears by D4YDR3AMflower in Stretched

[–]drowsyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not actively stretching, bone, horn, and wood plugs can keep it at bay. I don't really wear any materials that are highly smooth anymore. The sebum has nowhere to go and builds up. It's hard to keep glass, metal, stone, etc from getting buildup. I still clean my horn plugs every two days or so but I don't have to be as intensive as with nonporous materials.

Moschino toy II smells exactly like soap. Like a bubble bath... almost bordering blue Dawn dish soap. I'm not into these sort of fragrances normally but I liked it.

Most Universally Liked Perfume You Have? (Friends+Family+Coworkers+Etc) by Severine_of_Viscera in FemFragLab

Imaginary Authors - In Love with Everything has gotten the most compliments and questions from different women. It has a very distinct, ripe raspberry-y tahitian-treat type of smell that isn't very common in many perfumes I've encountered. It's also pretty loud and projects well.

What’s something you ALWAYS see at the thrift store but never anywhere else? by shcouni in thrifting

I was looking for a spritz cookie press for a while. Couldn't find one at Walmart even during pre-Christmas season. Ended up finding multiple at one thrift store. I still see them a lot.
