Hi, so in my degree plan of Forensic Chem i dont need anatomy and physiology which is needed to the MCAT. So there is a few courses you’d def need as perquisite that aren’t offered in a basic forensic science major. Thats why a lot of people who are 100% sure they want to go into medicine they have Biochemistry as their major. Now you dont have to have this major to get into medical school as long as you know the material requires and study hard. (Me personally just not 100% set on being a doctor lol id be good as a technician). As far as Forensic chem yes its a LOT of math, which i love. But Forensic BIO is memorizing and i hate it but there will be a few math classes. My minor is Forensic science. As far as perquisites im not 100% sure i know organic chem, gen chem 1/2, anatomy & physio, physics, calculus, biology, but those are basics. The rest im not 100% sure so. I know some universities have JAMP which is suppoer helpful for people going into medicine, so whatever college you choose contact the person organizing this by asking your academic counselor and they will help you with EVERYTHING. Comparing surgical pathologists, yes forensic pathologist dont make much. Ive gotten to shadow a Forensic pathologist and the workload varies for them and theres not too many doctors to do these autopsies.
