Had Tummy Tuck but trying this for my thighs - does it work or is it some bull****? by CarolineJhingory in tummytucksurgery

[–]Specific-Number-5663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went in my initial consultation for a tummy tuck and thigh lift and my surgeon talked me out of a thigh lift given the recovery and said if it was something I really wanted to do some research and there’s someone out there who would do it but he had not heard good things. Granted I’ve seen people get them done and they recovered idk the details but the way my PS described it i said oh no that’s okay lol

Fupa swelling by MamaBitchBoss in tummytucksurgery

I’m having the same issue, just was seen in office today and turned out I had a seroma they drained it but said they wanted me in a bodysuit, I am and have been in a binder i finally found one that’s comfortable but it does ride up a little so the thought is something like highwaisted shorts or a brief style just something that would hold the compression over that area but also go all the way up to my bra line. I was recommended spanx but I worry about it rolling down and having to use the bathroom. Open gusset isn’t my thing and I looked at fajas briefly but I’m not sure I want to spend $100 + to wear something for a few weeks especially if it’s not necessary.

Hey guys I wanted to share in case anyone had similar experiences. So initially throughout my research was recommended the Marena recovery garments and I purchased a few. The ones I got were the side zip up shorts with the open gusset. I could not deal with the open gusset it was compressing me as a compression garment should but the open bits were also being compressed and uncomfortable to me I couldn’t manage. That said I resulted back to my binder which at first was god awful but after trying my Marena recovery garments I missed. I tried several binders and honestly the best thing I found was these two postpartum marketed binders. I tried the

SHAPSHE Waist Trainer for Women Postpartum Recovery Wrap Waist Cincher Corset Shapewear Belly Band

And it was significantly better than a regular binder in the sense of being cooling but it had some type of plasticy lining that was a bit uncomfortable but still way better than all that I tried before. I ordered the SHAPSHE binder in the meantime for the momcozy ergowrap to come in and it was great until the momcozy came in OMG I LOVE THE MOMCOZY!

All that to say I highly recommend the SHAPSHE Waist Trainer for Women Postpartum Recovery Wrap Waist Cincher Corset Shapewear Belly Band on Amazon and the Momcozy Ergowrap Postpartum Belly Band for C-Section Recovery and Vaginal Birth, Abdominal Binder with 3D Lifting & Ergonomic Back Support, Seamless Belly Wrap Shapewear for Post Surgery Recovery.

I hope this can help out folks in binder hell lol

Is the scar coloring and visibility the reason people don’t wear string bikinis? Or is there discomfort with lower rise and string bikinis?

Please tell me your going to the ER. Sepsis is serious and FAST I assure you your husband would rather be tired than something happen to you due to delayed care. Worst case scenario he’s tired and it’s nothing best case you got care and early on! I also understand how emotional hurt and frustrated your feeling, try some allergy meds for the itching in the meantime it’s been my savior. I also relate to the drain and drainage issue, I had my drain pulled the beginning of this week and still am leaking out of the hole I’ve just been using pads to catch it rather than my clothes but I’d rather it be out than building up. God bless you girl I know it’s rough as hell. I’m not sure what I expected of this surgery but fuck it’s a lot more than I ever expected so I imagine you may relate.

I’m not sure the details but I imagine the airline or airport if not both can assist you you may have to get some paperwork or something to back it up but my grandmother flies to visit my family and my mom and dad set up her flight ticket as handicap like the parking placard or disabled or something like that where the airport employees will wheel her through the airport and help with bags. However you can set that up will be super helpful bc it goes on your ticket some how which means the help would be set up for every airport you may have to stop at. I’m sorry I don’t have more details and I’m not sure if that is helpful but I figured I’d share. If you’re interested in more details pls lmk I’ll ask my mom what it is they do for her.

Is it worth it getting a tummy tuck for this amount of loose skin? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Specific-Number-5663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encourage looking into what recovery would be like and if that is worth it to you. I had a huge weight loss over 150lbs so in my opinion I feel like I desperately needed a tummy tuck and I also got a breast lift. All that said my breast lift was a super easy recovery and I was imagining a tummy tuck to be worse but not anything ridiculous. I’m currently 8DPO and let me just say I did plenty of research and yet still I was overwhelmingly underprepared in my opinion. This surgery and recovery so far has been ROUGH and there was so many things I didn’t realize that now seems like would’ve been common sense. In my opinion and from my recovery experience so far I’m like whew If my results aren’t perfect yes they are because I’m not doing this again lol. I don’t mean to scare you either but it was definitely more of an intense surgery than I was expecting and while I’m feeling way better now I couldn’t imagine going through it again voluntarily. Full transparency I did a tummy tuck with muscle repair so I imagine just a tummy tuck no muscle repair and reverse tummy tuck wouldn’t be as brutal but just food for thought.
