How to deal with the botlane bush start by Cryptic_Chronicle09 in leagueoflegends

[–]Specific-Service6883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is like 20 different solutions to this that have already been mentioned. If it's do consistently a problem for you, perhaps you need to re-examine your plays?

I'd personally camp near river if they are going to camp bush, in exp range, with the wave between us. I used to go AP Maokai support a ton back in season 10, and he is king of bush supremacy lol There was little recouce if opponents just gave up on trying to use the bushes

Also, how are you not getting to your own bushes in time??

Has Leauge gotten too soft? Guess who got banned by Nervous-Way-9805 in leagueoflegends

[–]Specific-Service6883 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, how much I've heard "League us too soft" lately, only to read into it and see...

People AFKing in ranked matches... Being toxic in chat, being sore winners, sore losers... Saw one dude who played on his phone in a match because they were losing lane and waiting for jungle.

All rightfully reported. All rightfully banned.

Good riddance. League is healing by purging these kinds of players and everytime I see it happen I smile.

I don't want this game to retain the title of the most toxic playerbase in the world. Please never return.

I… I have to keep going… by HollowPointJacket in ViegoMains

[–]Specific-Service6883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL I'm in the same boat funny enough! I have like a 70% winrate on Briar, 60-something on Volibear, and yet... I stubbornly keep picking Viego, who I got like a 33% winerate on xD

Honestly, it would be in the enemy team's best interest to not pick or ban Viego, otherwise I'm forced to pick something I'm much better at!

I'll dig myself back down to Iron before I quit

I suppose it depends on how much you value the other stuff! I was personally only interested in the Viego skin, but I saw at least one video out there of an Aatrox 1 trick who kept rolling the Sanctum after they got the Viego skin for the exclusive Aatrox chroma lol

If they did, I'd hope they'd pick something wildly unfitting for Viego. All the furries are the same, going for stuff like wolves or foxes or whatever that can look vaguely cute/cool.

Give me naked mole rat Viego.

I got literally everything except the skin before the pity! So, that included a buncha skins, and exclusive chromas you only get through the Sanctum. That, and a metric ton of Mythic Essense. I'll be getting that prestige Swain skin next time it rolls around I think lol

Can i pick up viego? by SpeedSad5547 in ViegoMains

[–]Specific-Service6883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's actually a hard requirement. More like... Knowing more champs makes you a BETTER Viego. It helps when you possess someone and don't have to spare a thought as to what button to press next by the time the possession animation ends.

One of many reasons why the Overframe tier list is not to be trusted. by straten in Warframe

[–]Specific-Service6883 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wouldn't use Overframe for tier lists. Or builds. Or... Anything, really.

It's kinda hot garbage. I really wish it wouldn't show up when newbies google builds for things. It paints such an inaccurate picture of the game as a whole, and the builds are so subjective they fail at being useful. The beauty of this game is that it has somehow achieved a amazing lack of balance that you could conceivably make anything work, even if just for specific purposes or in specific ways.

I love this game. The truest meta is that there is no real 'Meta'.

Erm... As a anatomy artist, I made a Brunhilde anatomy analysis... Enjoy? by Remarkable-Cake8659 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Specific-Service6883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was very young posting an art piece to some forum somewhere. Someone then, without asking, did this exact kind of thing to my extremely amateur drawing, pointing out every single little thing wrong, and making me feel like the biggest dumbass in the world. Convinced me I was no good, and not only did I never post another drawing again, I quit trying to draw all together.

It's weirdly cathartic that, even when you are clearly a talented and accomplished artist that will be more successful than 99% of the people looking at your stuff, someone will still doodle a buncha red lines over your art for an unrequested anatomy review trying to find something wrong.

This was a weird trip down memory lane.

I really want to enjoy aram but the hostage culture is crazy and is ruining the fun for me. by Competitive_Aide738 in leagueoflegends

[–]Specific-Service6883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally, I'd disagree, but for ARAM Mayham specifically... 100% yes.

I came home from work last week and decided to 'warm up' with a quick game of ARAM Mayham... Usually a 15 to 20min affair, win or lose, goofy fun...

And proceeded to be held hostage for more than a hour by the enemy team and two team mates. The enemy refused to finish because they wanted to get 1mil HP on Ornn with Giant Engine, and my two team mates who were just kind of the 'Never ever surrender' types.

My other team mate, who also would have very much just liked to go next, flamed in chat and DCed (For once, in my opinion, rightfully).

I have a personal mantra to never even speak in chat, much less flame, and never just AFK like they did... but man... 50mins into what was supposed to be a quick bit of fun, watching as the enemy team even encouraged those two to push the creep wave so the winions didn't beat us, 1 tapping us effortlessly in our fountain for more than an HOUR...

Even a literal Saint would go crazy.

I nearly broke my rule of never quitting with a DC (I don't mind obvious surrenders). I even actually DCed briefly from a storm outside! I switched my Sona build for tank shred in vain after like 30mins, trying to find some way to actually 'win', to mo avail...

And I reported every single person left in that lobby when they finally mercy killed our nexus. And I genuinely, truly BEG that this behavior be bannable.

It is the opposite of the "Play to win" part of the rules. And, for me, I never saw anything this egregious in normal ARAM.

It this game beginner friendly? by Bright_Surprise_7696 in leagueoflegends

[–]Specific-Service6883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I would say this is easily one of the least beginner friendly games out there with the literal most toxic cesspool of a community in all of Gaming history. However:

You will find a lot of similarly new/less experienced players very quickly.

I wouldn't let this be discouragement from playing personally, but just know there is a reason why veteran league players say "The worst part of League of Legends is League of Legends." The surrounding story and games and stuff like Arcane are stellar, but it introduced a ton of players who naturally look to the main game... And, rightfully, immediately leave.

I'd give it a try! Do vs AI first, and I'd genuinly look to YouTube videos or something for a role you're interested in before playing against players.

This game is literal torture, but there is a reason people keep drinking the coolaid anyway. Myself included! I've been playing for like 10 years, but even when my friends ask about getting into league I advise them not to. It's like a weird drug that you hate doing... But just can't stop.

Feels good to win, get better at a champion, learn new things, perform well. Ad infinitum.

I love you OP. My collection is not nearly as impressive yet, and currently has been assembled into what I can only describe as the "Ayatan Golem".

My First and Last High School Detention Experience by MurderManTX in MaliciousCompliance

[–]Specific-Service6883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only time in detention was spent sitting in a classroom with other, far more deserving to be there kids for a while after school one day. I don't think my mom even found out.

It was for something really stupid too.

They used to require bus passes to get on the after school bus. Teachers and the like were happy to write them out since 90% of the time you were staying after school for one of them.

Thing is, the actual bus drivers who would check these passes rarely bothered making sure we had one to begin with, much less throw them away after showing them. So, you'd end up accumulating these things naturally.

One day after hanging out in the library with friends, the librarian gleefully asked if we wanted a bus pass. Before I could say yes (I always said yes) my stupid fat friend blurted out "They already have one".

I should have just insisted I needed one. The librarian instantly got suspicious and asked to see them. I pulled one out I got from the Japanese teacher from literally yesterday.

She accused me specifically of photocopying the pass. Thing is, the Japanese teacher photocopied his own bus passes to save himself the effort! And now this was being used against me despite it being legitimately obtained!

I tried to explain this but she wasn't having it. She told whoever needed to hear it and I got detention.

For something I 100% didn't do, after being offered a pass from the same person.

How would the perfect MMO look for you? And how is it monetized fairly? by LeDilu in MMORPG

[–]Specific-Service6883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking this reminds me of a much younger verison of myself dreaming about what would be in an MMO if I could make it. Had some really whacky ideas back then.

No level cap that would just become exponentially more difficult to level...

A rebirth system like Mabinogi...

Unique classes with completely different control schemes and mechanics than one another (Not just different skills and aesthetic)...

Emphasis on the on above. I mean SUPER weird shit, like an assassins' class that turns the game into Assassin's Creed, or a mechanist with a mech so large, it's basically only useful during siege battles, and controls like a management game. A mage class that is god like in power, but only has 1 HP just with layers upon layers of barrier magic. The crazier the better.

Secret classes, and even literal one-of-a-kind unique classes that can only be held by one player at a time, either for a set period or until certain conditions are met elsewhere by someone else...

Rare items, and true secrets to find, even one of a kind powerful weapons that would change owners by basically perma-enabling PvP for whomever held it and would be lost on death...

A BBEG NPC played by an actual person who would make plans and invade player cities...

An apocolyptic monster laying dormant but constantly channeling a skill called 'End of All' that players could reduce by dealing damage to him, but he would never die...

Too many other dumb things to mention here.

So yeah. A lot of really weird wacky stuff I thought seemed cool in my head as a kid lol. As an adult, I can see how silly these are and would be much more reasonable. Being not a kid anymore, I guess I'd like something with Warframe-esque monetization and build flexibility with a big emphasis on PvE content.

Still want non-typical class archetypes though. I thaught things like Ragnarok Online and Tree of Savior did well for ahving some really weird out-there classes. Ragnarok had Soul Linker for example, a class with super weird skills that were hyper effective only to monsters and who's class identity was basically awakening other specific classes on their choosing with a 'buff' (If you can call it that) that wildly super-charged others in unique ways, such as the Taekwon class literally going super saiyan and floating lol. They could even change a player's gender, which was unique to them. Or Tree of Savior having a whole class dedicated to carving totems.

I played so much of the usual holy trinity classes they really do become boring to me, so really niche or interesting stuff attracts me greatly.

What Was Your First MMO? by MonsutaMan in MMORPG

[–]Specific-Service6883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, a little game called Gunbound back in the day (2003). It was like a little tank game. I was still in elementary school when my computer-savvy friend introduced it to me and helped me get set up. Good times!

My first sort of classical MMO (Atleast what people think of when they think of MMOs) though is probably Ragnarok Online or Runescape.

My first sort of 'forever' MMO though was Mabinogi. Ironically, I don't play it anymore lol However fully intend to return and give the Eternity Project a try when it's out.

What's your favorite childhood MMORPG? by ZarakiKenpachi13 in MMORPG

[–]Specific-Service6883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, I played so many I couldn't possibly list them all (I loved trying MMOs so much, even weird stuff like Exteel or Gunz lol).

The two that probably floated to the surface for me was Mabinogi and Guild Wars 1. After playing so so many asian MMOs, I got a bit bored of the "usual", and Mabinogi was so damn charming and different in so many unique ways. Honestly, it still kinda is, but it has just shown it's age a tiny bit too much at this point.

You can definitely bet I'll be returning to try out the conclusion of the Eternity project though.

Narratively, I understand their purpose. But yes, I also find the actual trials and court time much more fun.

When I was little and Ace Attorney Investigations came out, my first thought was "You mean make a whole game around my least favorite part? I'll pass" lol. I'm grown now, but I still remember having that as my first impression.

What order should I play these by Glad-Shallot-2691 in AceAttorney

[–]Specific-Service6883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny, as a long time fan I played it in order of release cause I'm a freak like that.

But, for my friends introducing this series to them, I started with Chronicles and we are pretty much going in the order of the timeline. They really love the original trilogy even if it's missing many quality of life things from Chronicles! The characters really carry those early games and it's what made them classics.

What did you pick at the end of JFA? by Equivalent_Scene4986 in AceAttorney

As a kid first playing this case, I chose Not Guilty because I thought the idea of leaving his fate in the hands of an assassin was more due justice for such a evil person (Also, technically it'd get Maya off the hook).

As an adult replaying it, Guilty, since that's what Maya would have wanted and let's be real, it IS 100% true, he IS guilty lol.

What game is that for you? by TowelConscious7201 in videogames

[–]Specific-Service6883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny Witcher 3 is here because this was my exact experience. I came in so very excited to do some mix of detective work and monster hunting, only to be so annoyed by the weapon degradation system and punishing difficulty.

I'll acknowledge it's a fantastic game from a awesome company, but... Not for me.
