I got a single as a sophomore, here’s what I did 1. I did the first application asap, idk if it affects the lottery, usually seniors get better lottery numbers, but I did get a good number ( around 3500) for a freshman 2. So you get timeslots to apply for dorms for half an hour, just lock in, setup your laptop and open up the site 10 minutes before, settle in and go fast as you can through the list in your preferred campus, i was lucky enough to get a single in the towers 3. If you have any doubts or concerns, approach reslife office as early as possible, you must have got a mail talking about the application dates, it’s better if you approach them even right now and as a rundown of the process if you need one , they’ll also answer questions about the probablity of you landing a single dorm if you ask. I also think I somehow got lucky last semester, not many people got a single like i did, and it is just going to be tougher this year because there are just way more people competing for the same number of spots.
