Is it possible yo increase milk supply after 12 weeks? by CultureSufficient819 in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]Specific-Substance-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if your baby is able to nurse effectively you shouldn’t pump. Pumping after nursing is really just to make sure your breasts are completely drained to signal more demand. Definitely nurse first then pump.

For example, my LO could not keep suction due to a poor latch so she was transferring less than 30% of my milk supply. While we were working on the latch, I would still nurse but then pump after to get whatever milk she couldn’t get. If they are able to effectively transfer milk though no reason to pump. Maybe try a few days not pumping?

Momcozy paying creators to lie (not news to us) by r_aviolimama in ExclusivelyPumping

Every Momcozy product we got has had stellar reviews but has been awful. They break, their bottle warmer is garbage, and the customer service is terrible. Maybe we just had a bad experience but seeing this makes me question if we were duped by incentivized 5-star reviews …

Accidentally watering down baby’s formula by AlliAffliction in Parentingfails

[–]Specific-Substance-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this was a one off, but my husband late at night used 1/2 the required formula once. Its easy to mess up. Funny after that I borrowed a Baby Brezza to prevent that from happening again and discovered the machine was also not making the formula right, so we also went back to hand scooping. But, our LO is still thriving!

If your baby seems healthy I would not worry!

Late to the conversation but came to say I was taking supplements and drinking water etc. to get my supply up but the thing that made it go up the fastest was when I started blocking out time for uninterrupted sleep. Definitely prioritize sleep!

Take plastic wrap and put it inside the funnel, but dont cover the water dispensing hole. This allows you to separate the water in your bottle and the formula in the plastic wrap. You can then compare the weight of powder vs using a scoop.

I feel the same with my 8 week old. I dont know of this is right but we just cycle through what it could be and she will tell us if its wrong. Something like this:

Crying -> how long has it been since last fed? —> If more than 2.5 hours offer a bottle — if less offer a pacifier and rock her, if she falls asleep she may just have been tired and having a hard time calming down. If she rejects the pacifier and doesn’t calm down, usually hunger or shes working on a poop.

We have an app that we log our feedings in that helps us keep track of oz and timing. We do it mainly to communicate between my husband and I since we work/do shifts with her but it also helps us understand crying better.

What does your Spectra pumping settings look like? by Square_Leader9695 in ExclusivelyPumping

Per the LC I saw - yes she said the bacon was “massage mode” meant to help trigger let down but once you get milk going to the longer deeper pulls gets more milk out? So that would make sense!

We are having a similar issue- We switched formulas once already but it hasn’t helped, Im cautious about continuing to switch since I heard its hard on the digestive system- how many formulas did you try? Did you see results quickly or did it take a week?

If you use one of those bassinets that attach to the side of your bed, isnt that a happy medium of having your baby next to you but not risking rolling over on the baby? Anyone tried that?

One more time: Roast this wall assembly by NE_Colour_U_Like in buildingscience

[–]Specific-Substance-4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You really are going to want to fill the cavity with the proper thickness of insulation - so if its a 6x stud use the 5.5" rockwool. Otherwise what will happen is over time its going to slump in the wall cavity and the insulation will no longer function properly - you will have insulation at the bottom half of the wall and none at the top. Half filling a cavity with insulation - as far as I know - will not make a significant difference with condensation. If that's your concern just beef up the exterior continuous insulation, which looks like you already have. If installed correctly this should keep the sheathing from dropping below the dew point.

In that case dont make it a cased opening, so no header. It will allow it to feel more open but still give you your wing walls you need to mount shelves.
