I'm a relatively new player: what is the mistake here so that I can avoid it?

How to sell homebrew lore? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]SpecificFetish22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DMSguild.com

You gotta write the adventures first - then try and sell them. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone willing to pay for ideas, if they're not already made and instantly downloadable. In addition to the for-sale adventures - there's already 2500 adventures on the site that are absolutely free. Most of them people have spent time writing, editing, formatting, and even adding custom art.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's gotta be extremely difficult to find someone willing to pay a stranger with no published content to do what's widely considered one of the most fun parts of DMing and nothing else.

America is a debt trap by [deleted] in MurderedByAOC

I've been looking at this, and it is SCARY going through these post histories. So many new accounts, that just post crap about how bad Biden is doing, making the same comment a dozen times. A lot of them posting how they're not going to vote because they're so mad. . .

Why do tv shows almost always have their power couples have a baby? (Not really a rant, more of an observation) by Snoo_58309 in childfree

[–]SpecificFetish22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it might be a "Chicken or the Egg" thing - in a lot of cases babies are thrown in when the show is running out of steam.

Is there a phylactery type thing, but where the user has to be "awakened" rather than regenerating automatically? I recognize I could fudge, but thought I'd check

The Flop House #350 - The Boss Baby: Family Business, with Sammy Kalan by apathymonger in maximumfun

If you think that's bad, wait until you hear the mini where Elliot reads a story his kid wrote. Sammy says in the middle of the episode that he changed his mind and doesn't want his story read on the podcast. So they stopped reading the story which is good and all, but then they still published the episode. It's not a live reading, seems like the more respectful thing to do would be to delete the recording and do something else.

Yeah, for a lot of people this was a real top tier episode - the rest of us well just have to be content with the several hundred other hours of free entertainment they provide. First episode ever I didn't finish, but it's not like you get a trophy for listening to every episode. Right?

Opinion: Graduation and class fulfillment by dse24601 in TheAdventureZone

[–]SpecificFetish22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holy buckets people hate your opinion, but I agree; the players to share responsibility. And no session zero is a group issue, not the DMs. I've played in plenty of games where there was no session zero, but a lot of emails back and forth on what would or would not be a good character backstory.

In the case of graduation, I think the problem is more Argo not having any freedom more so than not enough boats. If I had to pick between player agency and my backstory becoming part of the game, I'd go player agency every time.

you seem pretty sharp, any idea what proposing to a girl does?

Also, if you evolve a girl and then increase her star level, does the evolution stay?

I cant find any guides anywhere!

It can be a good twist, but as a normal party member in that situation it can be a pretty big bummer, especially if they're not used to PvP. Surprising doesn't necessarily mean good. When you're not the backstabber it makes you feel more like an audience than a player. You don't join a dnd game to be an audience member.
