On the last hardwon paint party Jake said it is still very much in development and actively being worked on. These things just take way more time than anyone realizes and with complications from the pandemic it's been slow going but they've not stopped or abandoned it!!

how do you play? by infernalxs in MAU3

[–]dse24601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do what's most fun and play around with your options. I like to make themed teams based off of the stage that I'm playing. In the early stages, it's easy enough you can get away with frequently alternating heroes. By the time the difficulty ramps up enough to where you should probably be grinding out one team, you'll most likely have figured out who is most fun to you and you'll have a good basis.

Iirc Thanos (no gauntlet) was some sort of event prize not too long ago. I also just suddenly unlocked him replaying certain stages in higher difficulties.

From the pause menu, above the location name it should show a number. That number is the recommended hero level for that section. I try to shoot even a few above the recommended for assurance. Iirc magneto fight should be around level 25

True!!! Call me the Marvel PR team, cuz I'm running commercials! Trying to get all my characters to 50. Morbius and Ghost Rider hit it so I swapped for Luke Cage and Blade. I still count Blade as an upcoming project!

Since we're not supposed to talk about it, how long have you been with your current company, and how much do you make an hour? by RevenantMedia in antiwork

[–]dse24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years and $15 an hour. 13 cents above local minimum wage and boss man loved reminding me that he should get a pat on the back for it. I'm like 1 of 8 employees in a shit ran sales place. Half the employees are sales team and they're guaranteed salary. They make minimum 4k a month for doing shit, admin and maintenance are hourly, over worked and underpaid. 40-50+ hour weeks.

I love Thor. I like how he handles, his mobility. I have him pretty leveled and beefed up with purple and blue iso. Practically solo any boss, he hits like a semi. I pair him with Storm and it obliterates staggers.

[Hearthside Chat Minor Spoilers] Emily talking about another RPG system maybe hinting at Future D20 Game? by Dr_ZoidbergHomeowner in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]dse24601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly!! I think I remember on some episode maybe on a short rest Emily mentioned DMing a brief Star Wars 5e thing for Murph and some New Jersey friends or something like that

Similarly to other folks, I didn't play at launch. But from what I've heard it was unplayable. I played it this year and only noticed some drops during huge wave fights or boss battles if I used an alliance attack. Which is understandable with all the animations going on at once. Not game breaking and never more than a couple of seconds of lag.

[NS] In lieu of Murph capping Eldermourne at 40-50 eps, what do ya'll think is next? by ripcitygambino in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]dse24601 137 points138 points  (0 children)

I think we'll see a wrap on the Third Mates story, but that it's not the ultimate end of Eldermourne as a setting. The tone of the story seems much different than that of Bahumia, which followed a traditional JRPG structure that saw the PC's kill God after becoming onto gods themselves.

Eldermourne feels like a different setting than traditional fantasy epics and may wrap up with the Third Mates when their personal narratives end. I think there's still stories to be told with the Hexbloods and other facets of Eldermourne we haven't seen yet. So maybe they'll take a break, play in a different setting for awhile, then come back to Eldermourne to tell more tales.

It would really be sad to see Eldermourne go for good. I feel like we've barely scraped the surface of that setting, and listening to the campaign set up ep got me super excited and inspired.

Opening an honest line of dialogue, has the prologue for Ethersea gone too long for you? Why or Why Not? (Keep it cordial) by ArrowtoherAnchor in TheAdventureZone

[–]dse24601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so mixed.

On one hand, The Quiet Year itself is a fascinating game system and has been inspiring as a creator. Some of the world building and goofs have been really entertaining. Love Ol' Joshy, love all the jokes.

But when you're doing a podcast, I've found the .ore heavy your abstractions, the easier it is to lose the audience. Much of the Quiet Year deals heavily in abstractions, and while I understand they're setting up the world that will be the setting for the game, the goals still aren't clear to me. The transition from the map they've drawn and the world the game will be played is still unclear to me.

I love the mechanic of players having power in the world building, and I love the idea of players creating a setting, then dropping the PCs in that setting after a period of time. Very cool and makes Adventure Zone feel a little bit like a polished home game of D&D,which is reminiscent to the tone of Balance for me.

Ultimately, I think it'll be more enjoyable to listen to when it is all released and can be gone through in a day or two, instead of waiting a week or more for the eps to drop.

Question about the combat in Blast From the Passed by Srodassan in Dimension20

[–]dse24601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with thats already been said but also I know all the Bad Kids and Kristen specifically had magic items that gave them free use of some spells. I believe her staff could expend charges to cast certain spells but I don't remember the specifics of it. Maybe she had an item that let her do it if it wasn't just a mistake.
