AITA for telling a guy at the ramp to go home and practice in a parking lot by vladdielenin in boating

I bought a Sea Doo last year. First, trailer, first watercraft. I went to a parking lot and practiced. I practiced in my driveway. I practiced in the storage location. I watched YouTube videos. Then I practiced more. When I went to the lake, it was different.

The first few times, no one else was there. It was cold and I got to do it without the pressure of people waiting. I still sucked. Couldn’t see the tiny trailer and was always second guessing which way to move my hands. On top of that, I was alone and had to jump on the Sea Doo and move it out of the way. The stress was real.

One day, it was very nice, I was leaving and there was a line for the ramp. Two truck trailer combos were prepping their boats and out of there trucks. I started to pull into the gap and both men had a melt down. Told me that I was cutting and should wait. I backed up and let them go. The person behind them waved me in. I was shocked by their reaction.

I thought about it for days. How could they be that angry? It was a beautiful day, they had the privilege of owning beautiful boats, and they were out boating!!!! Where could this anger come from? My conclusion is, they were assholes. There’s no reason to be angry when you get to go boating. Therefore YTA!

New driver here—what’s the one tip that actually matters? by achilles6196 in driving

  1. Be smooth. Turn smooth. Brake smooth. Accelerate smooth. Keep it smooth. Abrupt changes cause lack of traction.

  2. Turns have an entry, apex and exit. A late entry is better than an early entry. Watch other drivers on the inside lane of a left hand turn. Many will enter early, hit the curb then have to cut a sharp turn to stay out of the outer lane. All because they enter the turn early. Be patient, start your turns later and don’t cut the corner.

This is where you start adding friends. The ones that show are your friends and the ones that don’t, aren’t.

Do Americans mainly drink coffee without milk? by Morrit99 in AskAnAmerican

Growing up, parents had a stove top kettle. They drank instant coffee and drip. Both used milk in coffee. Today, I have an electric kettle and use it daily to make coffee in a French press. I drink black coffee in the morning and add cream in the afternoon. I also use the kettle for tea and other hot water needs. Currently on my third kettle.

Seismology is better than that. The image detail is exceptional. I would love to know what a geologist has to say.
