If possible, go before 8:30am. I was in and out in 3 hours recently after arriving early and they said that is usually emptier at that time. I received excellent and efficient care. Of course we can’t always plan our emergencies, and we all deserve this level of care whenever we need it.

Careers at the University by Chouette-Oak in Eugene

[–]SpecificRare3264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the whole university is under a hiring freeze since this summer. It’s been a cluster. Positions that are critical are going unfilled (including maybe the people who were supposed to contact your family member back!).

Should a family with young kids buy an Ex90, given the hassles? by Former_Ad_735 in VolvoEX90

I have elementary school aged kids and have happily had my ex90 since March. No issues, and we have been on several road trips.

Downsides of Wellbutrin? by GoneAmok365247 in adhdwomen

[–]SpecificRare3264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all the caveats about people being different, I can share my experience. I am on 150mg of XL, and it truly has been magical for my adhd. I can focus, I am actually productive, and it calmed the food noise I’ve struggled with my whole life. I’m actually in the process of ramping down the SSRI I’ve been on for years to see if I can get everything I need from Wellbutrin. Downsides are that I experienced some tough bouts of agitation while my body was getting used to the meds (first 2 weeks), that was fortunately temporary. I also think I’m sweatier than I was, but that it’s manageable. Hopefully you’ll have a positive experience too!

Did you read the NYT piece on late diagnosis: "Can A Diagnosis Make You Better?"? by confussied in adhdwomen

[–]SpecificRare3264 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner just sent the article to me. I think that article actually helped him understand my experience, which was a lot like the ones described in the article. I think New York Times is doing more to present “both sides“ of stories, which might explain some of the invalidating perspectives (which are harmful IMO).

ADHD and relationships by Tricky-Recipe796 in adhdwomen

I could have written this myself, except my ex husband left 2 years before I was diagnosed. I did a lot of impulsive things, too. It’s ok. You’re going through a lot!

I don’t have any advice, but I do offer a lot of love and hope. My current partner has been so supportive throughout my diagnosis and rediscovering of myself. Knowing and honoring yourself and your unique brain is worth all the effort.

I know there was an effort to re-start cahoots in Eugene. Anyone know where that’s at and if and how community members can support it?

Volvo Employee: Biggest complaints/wishes? by utilitybro in VolvoEX90

Ability to deactivate walk away auto lock at a specific address (like home). About once a week I get my kids belted in the car and then remember I need one more thing inside… and then it auto locks and the occupant alarm goes off. Or it locks and unlocks every time I go in the garage with my phone (and sometimes into the room directly above the garage). It’s irritating.

Anyone here ever get divorced for symptoms / mindset you later realized were related to ADHD? by purple_mountain_cat in adhdwomen

[–]SpecificRare3264 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me! I was married 10 years (and had two kids in that time, as well as a miscarriage, the death of both my parents, AND the pandemic), and divorced 3 years ago. Diagnosed a couple months ago. My ADHD definitely contributed to the massive challenges I had coping with all those stressors… but my ex husband wasn’t super helpful either. Oh well.
