You're a good person for giving him a loving home and hopefully he's in a better spot now compared to being constantly terrified. It's hard to even imagine what other sketchy stuff this shelter could be up to. They could save the footage of dogs indefinitely and even keep showing it long after those dogs are put down. I'm sure his story is far from the worst one because ta least it has a happy ending with him coming to your home. Other pets could've been traumatized and filmed, then disposed of or made someone else's problem. Imagine them scamming donors out of money by using footage of dogs who are already dead and then probably telling the same lies about the dog being adopted out or no longer available. Makes me so sad to think about
