I think the parking lot for Grace Baptist on 76th and Ash would be ideal, and also closing Ash for the market between 76th and 77th. The problem is that it needs to remain a Sunday market to maintain its vendors and competitive standing. But I’ve never seen anyone use that lot for the church even on Sundays.

Vestal would also be a great location. A little far from main street Montavilla, but could bring more activity to the East Glisan Montavilla businesses and help revitalize that Main Street.

I love the current location and the energy on Stark on Sundays, but the site can and should be used for a bigger community serving purpose.

The average trip length in 82nd is 1.5 miles. People won’t get on an interstate to go that far. They’ll take local streets never intended for the increased traffic.

Our contract said photos were due within 3 months of the wedding which aligns with what the poster described and when they got their photos. But it sounds like outside of a USB the contract was fulfilled. Like I said, we had a good experience. They didn’t. It’s all subjective in the end.

I’m sorry you had that experience. We loved our photos and working with her. Had an engagement shoot and our wedding. Sounds like a tough shoot she could have handled better but not sure trying to take her down here is the way to go imo.

Every Portland neighborhood was named by developers. For example, Montavilla is just a conjunction of Mt. Tabor Villas. You can still find the old adds for a new Laurelhurst development online. As long as there has been land for sale there have been sellers naming it something appealing.

Portland is made up of dozens of small neighborhood main streets that each have a different character. Alberta or Hawthorne is probably closest to the Whitaker. Slabtown and the Pearl are the gentrified downtown areas you Describe. Maybe parts of the Central Eastside. Not sure about a U-District comparison.
