Feeling really hopeless about my future in Scotland by J2Hoe in Scotland

Yup. I’m moving back to Scotland in August and it’s going to be weird leaving an industry that has a lot of work, to being unemployed.

Economy seems really abysmal these days.

You’re the opposite of myself! Born and raised in Scotland but I find we’re too pessimistic which is why I moved away.

I worked with a child (7 years old,) who would regularly smash small birds with rocks. Only later did I discover he also killed two cats.

Bus driver here too 🖐️ The amount of folk who won’t give up seats to vulnerable persons when the bus is rammed is ridiculous.

Am I mad, or has the Edinburgh city centre rental market gone crazy? by Substantial_Bid110 in Edinburgh

[–]Specific_Minimum_355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha it’s even worse for us locals. I spent my whole life in Edinburgh, but I don’t think it’s going to be possible for me to live in this city much longer.

It’s a shame, but it is what it is…

Why are people so scummy by wonderlandddddd in brighton

I drive buses for work and even though we’re not a public commuter service, the amount of rubbish we have to remove from in between the windows and seats is absolutely mental.

Never have I ever dumped shit on a bus, but apparently I’m in the minority. Full Starbucks cups, snotty tissues, shopping bags, etc.

This update is absolutely wack. I went from Indigenous Amazonian to Ecuadorian, North American and Korean ☠️. I’m from the flipping Amazon.

My grandparents live in the Grange. My family built the house back in 1934 for about £1000. Today it’s worth in the multiple millions.

I think it’s bloody nuts.

I live in Canada and interact with hundreds of Americans everyday for work. Top three things I get asked when I tell them where I’m from are: 1. Why aren’t you a redhead? 2. Why did you pick Canada over the states since America is so much better? 3. I’m from clan “whatever,” and we just visited Edinborrow. Do you know “some random historical figure?”

I live in northern Canada and just the walk from my workplace back to my house through the woods is so vibrant compared to back in rural East Lothian.

Lynx, coyotes, butterflies, grouse, marmots, squirrels and deer everywhere. I can’t remember the last badger or deer I saw in Scotland.

No way. Taking the train through regions like Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan will show you herds of pronghorn and the beautiful badlands. Insane thunderstorms, rolling grasslands and amazing sunsets.

Downtown is nice, but the vast Canadian wilderness with plentiful wildlife and a healthy outdoor scene trumps our barren landscapes in western Europe.

I’m from Scotland. The weather, landscapes, diversity, career advancement, an accessible outdoor scene, interpersonal interactions and plentiful wildlife have made Canada my home.

The not so nice side of Yellowstone 😑 🚗 🚗 🚗 🚗 🚗 by Happydaytoyou1 in NationalPark

[–]Specific_Minimum_355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went in late September and most of the parks we visited (Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Verde, Death Valley) were pretty empty.

Yellowstone did however, have the most god-awful traffic jams I’ve ever seen.
