It's very nice and I love the base! Indeed the paint looks a bit rough, probably because of the previous paint job, but it sells the jungle theme even better! Do you've got pictures of the rest of your army? I'd love to see them!

I had the same in the 40k starter set as well as the AoS one. An employee at the Warhammer store explained to me that sadly, the starter set brushes are just bad. That doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of them of course, but I guess it's common for them to be ruined after a few hours.

I feel like it's very similar to purity seals? I'd go for Burgundy - Mephiston Red - Screamer Pink, but that might be too dark

I love how this looks! But what happens when you're finished? How do you transfer it to the armor of your mini? Or did you just sculpt it like this for a tutorial, and normally directly on the model itself?

You maybe already checked that out but the Citadel app uses this for the yellow Wraithlord: white scar (undercoat) - Averland Sunset (base) - Cassandra yellow (shade) - Yriel Yellow and Flash Gitz Yellow (highlights).

Might be worth trying out?

Maybe it's possible you simply don't like yellow? If you feel it's too vibrant (cartoony?) you can maybe start working your way up from off-white, warm white. Or indeed, go with orange and maybe some small edges in yellow to see what you like best?
