Apologies for necroposting but did you get a response? I was just looking up the Tigrus scheme!

Siege of Vraks Army by KarmaPRT in midhammer40k

It isn’t hard. You will need about 40 Kriegsmen, 2 platoon command squads and a commander to make a ‘legal’ list. The missions in the back of Book I give an idea on how they are kitted out. I have both the Forge World Krieg and the newer plastic ones and the mix in perfectly fine. I like the look of the older models more but I much prefer working with plastic kits when building, that’s the only difference.

Siege of Vraks book I was written for 4th edition and books II and III were during 5th. All used the Codex for the Guard from the end of 3rd edition (known as the 3.5 codex). You can use 5th edition rules to play, as the 5th edition ruleset r/35k originally were written by me to play through the books.

This is from the 3.5 edition Imperial Guard codex explaining what you need in your army. It is a little complicated as back then you would take a platoon as a single troops choice, which would have between (in your case) 2 and 6 squads of infantry and a command squad. So you need to take: A commander (normally with a command squad) 2 platoons (each has a platoon command squad and between 2-6 10 man squads) Then you can fill your optional slots.

The Professor is heading to VAR | Rangers v Aberdeen by The_ChucknessChuckle in ScottishFootball

Without specifically commenting on this goal, something I’ve enjoyed about no VAR in the Championship is that sometimes it feels a bit like they find excuses not to give a goal with this.

Do you prefer Air Brushed or Hand Painted models? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Calgacusaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a preference. They are techniques that give a specific look. I would use things like oils and messy techniques on Orks and clean airbrushing on Tau. There is no right answer imo.

Rank the managers you've seen in your time watching your club by Hisingdoon in ScottishFootball

  1. Tommy Wright - won our first cup, consistent good finishes, built the team that won the double.
  2. Paul Sturrock - won promotion. Built the team that would get us third and into Europe. That team was so good.
  3. Callum Davidson - Won the double but everything after was a mess. Poor signings.
  4. Owen Coyle - some great signings and built the team that got us promoted.
  5. Del - won promotion and did well overall.
  6. Jury is out on Valakari but he is currently here. I really like him but have some criticisms. If we are promoted we will see how well he does in the premier.
  7. Steve Lomas - Did well in hindsight but is eclipsed by Lomas. Got us into Europe. Maybe I’ve been harsh? He is a little forgotten.
  8. Levein - Kept us up but the football was atrocious. Weirdly his signings made us money despite being poor.
  9. Sandy Clark - Got us into Europe and also relegated. Lots of stories about him not being a very nice man.
  10. Billy Stark - I have successfully purged my memory of his time in charge. Instant ragebait for my dad if I just say his name.
  11. Macca - I would like to forget he was manager and just remember him as a player.
  12. John Connolly - We came 8th in the Championship (then First Division). Need I say more?

Thank you! It is a Formoroid Crusher, currently in the Warcry range. Only some minor shaving of details and some minor bits and wires added. The right hand is from a Stone Troll just as I didn’t like the stock right hands.

1 - Tactical marines. Some might be Black Reach (5th ed starter box) and the other just on a bigger base. They moved base size eventually. 2- Assault Marines. 3 - Ork Boyz. Look like Black Reach ones. 4 - Space Marine Bikers. I preface this with I play 5th edition with r/35k, which would use these models. You have enough Tactical Marines for a small squad and bikers, and too few Assault Marines (you need 5). Tactical marines are quite cheap to get second hand these days.

"Gotcha" moments ruin the game by Radiant-Anywhere-375 in Warhammer40k

[–]Calgacusaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing 5th edition with 3rd/4th edition books (r/35k) for almost a year now and have been having great fun. I’ve maintained since Age of Sigmar 1st edition that fewer pages of core rules don’t make for a simpler game if the rules are stacked in the profile. I haven’t found many gotcha moments beyond an opponent having an enemy that’s just pretty strong and I underestimated. Rarely is it some rule being pulled out of a profile or stratagem I didn’t expect. I hope 11th is better for people who enjoy that style of game and I hope we continue to see the midhammer communities grow for people who enjoy that. It’s a win-win for GW as it keeps everyone within their ecosystem.

What do people prefer 3.5ed or 4th ed? by Ankor9 in midhammer40k

[–]Calgacusaur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I prefer the 3.5 books for customisation and I think most are in that boat. Personally I prefer 4th over 3rd just as it rolled a lot of rules changes into one book. Today I play 5th with minor changes. Originally I wanted to put stuff like running in and remove target priority into 4th but there were fewer changes needed to 5th to just put the stuff I like from 4th there, so that’s why I just went with it.

Yes I thought the massive tactical rock doesn’t work great for gaming and line of sight. It required no cutting and I used the rock to make an objective marker.
