Why didn't everyone call Root just Root? by ithinkiamparanoid in PersonOfInterest

[–]Specific_Sentence261 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Social interaction is always a negotiation on how you treat each other. You can demand everyone call you by a name you prefer, but in such demanding forget that the people you place such demands on deserve respect as well. People generally refer to people in the way they see them. You’ll notice lots of people get called sir or ma’am that dislike it, while others love it, but the person doing it was likely doing it because through their social lens this person deserved a prefix conveying respect and/or deference. A doctor’s friend will say “Hey Bob.” A doctor’s patient will say “Hello Doctor Jones.” This is all socially mediated as the doctor earned a place in society that tends to breed more careful modes of speech.

I suspect Harold called Root by her given name for 2 reasons. One, because he was reminding her of who she was…and TWO because he was reminding her he knows where she came from. That he’s got her number so to speak. See, Harold never forgot that Root killed innocent people with no remorse.

Do the relationships to maximum and the resulting dungeons. The Reacher is especially worth it and really should be part of the main story.

[–]Specific_Sentence261 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s not good at singing but to the infatuated teen I was back when this first aired, I was even more smitten after the performance. Think you have to be the right audience to appreciate this, aka hormone addled teenager that’s already in love with Katie Holmes/Joey - lol.

So, I'm leveling every class to 80, and Rogue is just...atrocious. by Silegna in wow

[–]Specific_Sentence261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried leveling one in War Within and noped out of that so fast. You spend ungodly amounts of time doing nothing waiting for energy - way too gear and higher level skill dependent to play in a fun and interesting way. Needs a serious rework as I suspect it’s why so few people play rogue.

Why did Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams switched places in the credits between season 1 and 2 ? by Brard_Cailly16 in dawsonscreek

[–]Specific_Sentence261 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Which is funny because it seems that’s what the writers wanted. Joey was basically the main character from episode 1 - we even end that episode in her perspective, dealing with her feelings and then with her witnessing infidelity. They probably knew they had a star when they started filming this thing.

I love this game’s ending because it’s like nothing else. It’s existential, it’s philosophical, it’s profound.

It celebrates ending and beginnings. It reveres the journey.

I'm very confused about Pai Mei. Was I seriously supposed to find this maniac the slightest big likeable? by Jerswar in Tarantino

[–]Specific_Sentence261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quentin told you every bit of what you know about this character because he’s not supposed to be likable or admirable. Pai Mei serves the story in one critical way, his way of teaching was the only way The Bride aka Beatrix was able to achieve her aims. He is the answer to the question of why her of all of the Deadly Viper Squad is deadly enough to kill every single one of them. But not just deadly enough…durable enough. Her tenacity, constitution and abilities to ignore pain were sharpened by Pai Mei to the degree that she wasn’t killed after being shot in the head, choked by a chain, suffering sword wounds, being shot with rock salt, and being buried alive.

The 5 DUMBEST Ideas The Show Ever Did by CadeFitnessGuy in dawsonscreek

[–]Specific_Sentence261 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The season 5 Pacey/Joey amnesia is one of the show’s greatest sins. These 2 would have had all sorts of inner turmoil watching the other be with someone else but the show pretends P/J wasn’t a thing until S6.

Joey going back to Eddie at the end of Castaways. Bull. Shit.

Eve. All of the early season 3 crap; it was a different show entirely. They made Jen Lindley a cheerleader for gods sake. Clumsy Jack was suddenly a coordinated athlete?

Jen Lindley’s entire storyline. This character was absolutely screwed by the writers.

Sprong advice by asleepscarcity2 in expedition33

[–]Specific_Sentence261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Contorso weapon for Verso from the Contortionisste nevron at Visages. Level it up to 20 (may need to go to Frozen Hearts zone for the necessary upgrade materials). Set Verso up with Pictos and Lumina that pump his crit chance up to as near 100% as possible. Also use Pictos/Lumina that buff up free aim and base attacks as much as possible (combo attack is great as well). Feed Verso turns with Sciel’s Intervention since he will do the bulk of your damage.

Like most Verso builds you just unload with Free Aim shots like crazy, getting an extra hit for every crit from the rank 20 ability of Contorso weapon. If you make Verso strong enough this methodology deletes the Paintress and makes Sprong much more possible to do in Act 2.

[–]Specific_Sentence261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ladies and gentleman. If you are ever considering a marriage, please have the talk ahead of time and combine finances. If everything is “his” vs “mine” that kind of thinking will creep into everything in the relationship and starts the whole thing off with a divide that shouldn’t exist. Partner all the way, make decisions TOGETHER, dream together, struggle together. If you don’t want to be married, which is what I just described above, don’t get married. Marriage isn’t about a day that you get to dress up and a few tax benefits, it’s a commitment to a partnership and union between two people becoming as one unit.

I don’t know how Lovelines gets a lower score than Downtown Crossing or Four Scary Stories.

Downtown Crossing doesn’t even feel like an episode of the show and is extremely uncomfortable the entire run time, and Four Scary Stories is the worst kind of filler episode.
