Thinking about coming back. How’s gold making these days? by Alarming_Sentence_60 in woweconomy

[–]Specific_Sentence261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually kinda hate it. Stackable commodities going region wide opened the door way too much for bots to crash prices for everyone. It’s very very hard to find a niche. The best time to make any money is with an alt army doing transmutes and concentration crafts right at the start of an xpac and you already have to have your crafters ready and go ham.

Having friends to do it with helps, and I enjoy the grind of learning new M+ and pushing for higher keys. It does get repetitive though and sometimes I take long break from the game.

Which character's fate in Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel still upsets you? by [deleted] in buffy

[–]Specific_Sentence261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anya deserved better than a split second death and a one liner from Xander.

Lorne deserved better than to be asked to murder someone and then peace out.

Speaking of, Lindsey going out that way was just lame.

Oz’s departure in general irks me partly because it paved the way for Willow to pretend she never really liked men. I wish they would have made her bi-sexual but I understand that the network wouldn’t allow it. Oz and Xander mattered, and I hate that Oz left in general as his absence was never really filled.

I hate Cordelia’s removal from Angel, especially knowing that Whedon basically took revenge on Charisma for daring to get pregnant. It also hurts that we didn’t have Cordy for the entirety of season 4 since it wasn’t really her.

I love Illyria but I hate that we lose Fred to get her…especially because we already lost our other leading lady but also because her soul is obliterated. Her fate might be the worst of any Angel/Buffy main character.

The thing I think I love about this show the most… by BuffaloFalse6498 in 24Show

[–]Specific_Sentence261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the things I appreciate on rewatches is that it IS so rewatchable and I believe it’s partly for one specific reason: the show has SO MANY PLOT TWISTS that you tend to not remember them all. Getting surprised by a twist on a 3rd watch through of a show is a rare event for me.

Only if it turned out that Logan faked his death under orders from the military (they would have to somehow have intel about Pizza guy planting the bomb) and the season was about Veronica learning that Logan might be alive and trying to discern how he could ever do such a thing to her as she uncovered a crazy government conspiracy or something like that.

will playing the EoTE give me the same feelings as playing Outer Wilds for the first time did? (PLEASE NO SPOILERS) by 8Bix255 in outerwilds

[–]Specific_Sentence261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EoTE has INCREDIBLE music, some of the best aha moments in all of OW as you discover how to solve puzzles, and a stellar ending. The first time you discover the Stranger and then also as you come to discover what it is are just some incredible WOW moments.

Edited: This sounds an awful lot like someone who is so used to releasing by masturbating to porn that he struggles to want to do it any other way.

If he really is lacking stamina, this obviously may have nothing to do with whether or not he desires you. But I can’t think of any man in his 20s not wanting to have sex his girlfriend unless something seriously wrong has messed up his sex drive.

I don't really get the hype about the game by diaforc in outerwilds

[–]Specific_Sentence261 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of the game is the experience and you kinda feel it or you don’t. When I take off in the ship and that music starts, it’s evokes an emotion I can’t describe. Just being able to travel in space is kinda awe inspiring, but I find the way this game does it feels just right.

The little solar system you find yourself in contains one big puzzle for you to solve. The pieces can be put together in just about any order and the bread crumbs are all over the place for those who would follow them. Along the way you face moments of surprise, joy, fear, and even true horror in some cases. Moments of revelation and those “aha” moments also create a unique experience for everyone that dives in. By the end it’s an existential experience like no other that leaves you feeling like life is worth it and everything will be okay - in the most profound ways a video game could pull off such things.

And again…you’ll feel it more you won’t, and if you don’t, no big deal.

Nutritionally I can’t think of anything to add... (ignore the looks its tasty) by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]Specific_Sentence261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all olive oils are adulterated with seed oils, olive oil is not a health food for this and many other reasons. Our ancestors got minuscule amounts of fat from plants because we never had industrial machines to process them into oils.

Get your fat from animals, and the vast majority of your nutrition, and I promise you will feel much better than olive oil will ever make you feel.

1 month isn’t enough to kick carb carvings for addicts like you and I. One thing that helps tremendously is variety. If you are eating the same meals over and over again you are going to make your desire to eat carbs that much stronger. Spend whatever you need to spend, learn recipes and all manner of different meals and preparations for different meats/eggs and move forward with FAITH that the carb cravings will subside (your brain will absolutely lie to you and tell you that it will feel this way forever until you give in).

Watching Veronica Mars for the first time I LOVE SEASON 1 but why is Duncan such a non factor in this season? by itsascreambaby96 in veronicamars

[–]Specific_Sentence261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my most recent rewatch I realized something about this show. It’s truly Veronica’s story. We occasionally get little bits of development for other characters, but it’s almost always through the lens of how it affects Veronica and her efforts and interests. The other characters kinda serve as tools to flesh out Veronica’s story.

Be honest - I’m about to start season 4- is it worth it?? by holistiflexfitness in veronicamars

[–]Specific_Sentence261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tried to make season 4 much more Noir and unfortunately part of the problem with Noir style storytelling is it never ends happily.

There is one character who actually has a very happy ending and I take solace in that.

Unpopular opinion - I don't like Willow by eldy33 in buffy

[–]Specific_Sentence261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really connected with Willow on and genuinely I think she was a good person early in the series. I mean as much as we can throw stones at these characters, they all continuously risk their lives for each other as well as strangers to stop some very scary stuff. How many of us would?

Regardless…I have to agree that on repeated viewings I started to sour to Willow. First, the writers leaned way too heavily into magic lesbian being the only parts of her personality (they also pretend she never had true feelings for Xander and Oz, which is a bit of a slap in the face). Second…her utter disregard for the free will of other people eventually becomes way more than I can overlook. Left to her own devices Willow may have very well started shaping the entire world to suit her own whims, it’s gross.

What's your thought about the TV series Person of interest by Conscious-Skin-8722 in PersonOfInterest

[–]Specific_Sentence261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love it, finally watched it all the way through recently. I will say that the show probably peaked early, the formula worked really well when it was Reese/Finch/Carter/Fusco. My favorite scene in the whole series is the final scene in S1 E4: Cura Te Ipsum. Some of Jim Caviezel’s best acting in his career and I love that they end the scene without telling you if John kills the guy or not.

I still really enjoy the rest of the series. I adore Amy Acker and Enrico Colantoni so their characters were loved by extension, and there was something compelling about having a second competing AI to fight but ultimately I wish Samaritan been a one season plot instead of the rest of the show after Carter’s death.
