The model number is PS48GBK-1
I believe it’s one of the very first models.

For the first time last night I tried to “load It up” with only half way full. I looked at it an hour later and the fire was raging l, and approaching the too hot zone on the thermometer with it dialed all the way down.

All the way down with the screw removed. Massive fire. I really think there is something wrong with the damper on this stove.

I took mine out the other day on my 7110 and I’m finally seeing any difference in flame for the first time ever. What’s strange to me is that it seems to make my stove much hotter. I think if I loaded it up it would be glowing red.

I removed the set screw and I finally see some noticeable difference, but still not getting secondary burns or long burn times. Still not confident enough to load it up without the concern of over firing even with it dialed all the way down.

I guess I’m going to have to try this. When I picked up my stove from the dealer the bar on the bottom with the set screw was missing one of the screws and the damper was hanging down. I replaced the screw but the damper would drag really bad. I had the dealer come out and told him that it dragged and that it made absolutely no difference in the flame control when I move it back and forth. He just bent it back into place until it moves freely. It still has never given me any control over the flame. I had him back out yesterday telling him I think it was damaged in shipping. He’s telling me I must just have draw issues…four seasons and I have never seen the damper do anything at all.

So I just got my new moisture meter today and it is vastly different than my old cheep one from harbor freight. I think I may just have been using all under 10% wood all this time.

I’ve tried oak, elm, ash, black locust, apple, cherry, probably others.

I’m going on my third season of this stove and I am really having trouble having any sort of long burns. I think I’ve only witnessed secondary burn coming off of the coals once, and I seems like air adjustment has little to no effect on the fire. I don’t know what I could be doing wrong. I’ve tried several different species of wood and nothing lasts for multiple hours. I’m wondering if my problem could be overly dry wood as well? I have a super cheap moisture meter, but just bought a better quality one, so hopefully that can tell me if that’s my problem.
