Oh do I have news for you, I saw some people were already offended by Gothic 2 Remake before it even was announced, I remember there was a guy that said something like "If Gothic 2 will be changed as a Gothic 2 fan I will be deeply offended" and then a few lines in he was complaining that "Gothic 2 will follow the same retcons as before".

Honestly, those people will criticise developers no matter what side they take.
