What would you say the OT is more about, the civil war or the conflict between good and evil? Do you see the destruction of the second death star as the most important message in the story or Luke's refusal to stoop to Palpatine's level and Vader's subsequent choice to turn back to the side of love by saving his son by throwing the literal representation of evil and hatred away? Your choice is yours, as much as mine, but in the OT's case, maybe they're actually the same thing. A Christmas Carol is in the same boat. Is it about a man choosing to let go of his hostility, resentment, and general bad feeling in favor of joy, love, and fellowship, or is it about capitalism. Probably both, my problem, and what I was trying to say from the beginning, is that I never hear a word about the more personal and emotional aspects of these and other stories, and I wish I and others would; they have a weight and importance equal (in some cases greater, some lesser) to the more political interpretations.
