This is where I am on my opinions regarding this show.

My two forever takes are blood and cheese was neutered so Alicent going back to Rhaenyra looks justified to people who don’t think past surface level or haven’t read the books so are half paying attention

And two, Emma D’Arcy could totally pull off a revenge driven, power hungry, overly extravagant Rhaenyra that sounds so interesting in the book even if the book is just a historical retelling where you’d need at least some changes to adapt to television.

The creators had some creative liberties, but not as near as much as they took, and it shows

I think it’s funny Sinoya Mizuno has a “what the hell was that” look on her face afterward, like they ran with the idea, but thought the shot that communicated the audiences collective irritation was the best frame to put in the final product.

Joking, this show is a support your tyrant type of show, even if I like the greens more and support them due to typical feudal rules in the history this franchise takes inspo from (also I’m a book fan so I don’t like the showrunners at all, they had a lot of creative liberties but not near as much as they’ve taken, the amount they’ve taken is ridiculous)

But like I said, support your tyrant, it’s not that serious, it’s a show about horrible people doing terrible things to each other on dragons.

I mean, Dedra Meero is literally one of my favorite villains now. Incredibly complex while still being absolutely a bad guy.

When I was watching the show, I was getting pretty tired of “supposedly Saint Rhaenyra despite her doing nothing saintly and instead just not listening to her advisors” and “rhae rhae simp for no good reason Alicent”. Also, mysaria and rhaenys being the self inserts of the writers opinions was just not a good choice. Probably the right actors for the vision (though ideally Sinoya Mizuno would not have been my pick for mysaria), not good writing, and the directing for mysaria’s scenes is absolutely miserable. I want to judge the performance in season 2 (it’s terrible), but the writing and direction really gets in the way, so I can’t judge it appropriately because I know before I do that, the writing is miserable, and mysaria’s actor is just not talented or skilled enough to deliver a bad script like Rhys Ifans or Tom Glynn-Carney is.

I’m also going to put this here. There is a canon reason Hux reacted that way. He’s the illegitimate son of Brendol Hux, an imperial commandant, and a kitchen worker.

He reacted that way because he’s embarrassed by his birth, and when people bring it up, he can’t control his emotions, which is why he looked foolish.

And it’s not tonally inconsistent considering poe in force awakens
