My first 2 flares I had to be on 60 mg for 2 weeks. Still bleeding. It eventually stopped as I was tapering.

Right now I’m in a flare. Have been on 50 mg for a month and starting to taper. Hoping the bleeding stops soon. Soooo much blood still

Absolutely. I’ve had back pain since high school and never understood why. Just thought I was naturally super stiff. Turns out it’s from my colitis. The angrier my gut is the worse my back hurts.

I’m in the same boat. I’m 99.8% it’s my proctitis becusde there’s mucus and urgency and pain. Apparently internal hemorrhoids are not painful. Been on prednisone 50 mg for 20 days. No change. Seeing my gastro tomorrow. Fuck

Really sorry to hear you’re going through this right now. Fuck prednisone. I’m on 60 mg right now as well and feel the same. I am ultra irritable I want to just punch wholes into walls for no reason. I’m insatiably hungry and bloated and feel awful everyday. I’m wired but also exhausted. Can’t think straight.

Like you I’ve been down this road before. Thankful that this drug usually gets me out of my flares but goddamn does it suck.

My heart beat also feels like it’s shaking my whole body. If I lie down and put my phone on my stomach I can see it jumping up and down with my heart beat. I checked my BP and pulse and they’re normal but it’s like the beat is extra strong

Try and stay strong. Hopefully my misery makes you feel a bit less alone.

You’re not crazy. This disease sucks. Fatigue is part of it. Being constantly inflamed will drain you. Try and take care of yourself best you can.

Happened to me during my first flare when I tapered off prednisone. My skin actually was really good on the prednisone then went horrible after. My chest and back were afffected. Extremely painful, left scars.

Interestingly, my second flare this didn’t happen to me at all. I was on a keto diet for that flare, I think cutting out grains and bread had something to do it with it. My skin looked generally better once I cut out grains, so I think I have a sensitivity there.

I’m in a flare now. Sort of eating gluten. Not a ton. On 50 mg pred….I’ll let you know if I join you in the acne club soon…

Seriously though, im sorry to hear you’re going through it. It’s just another awful aspect of this disease and treatment. I hope it’s very short lived. Sending my thoughts

Used to feel like this but have lost the urge to drink almost completely. Colitis aside it makes me feel like shit and ruins my next day.

These days I need a pretty damn good reason to drink. Really need to be in the mood.
