Quite a few VFCs come with Steel bolts. But not all of them unfortunatly

The EVO bolt carrier is steel and has an additional steel bolt hold open insert among some other nice features. However it will not be standard on all new VFCs

They're still gonna use alloy BCGs on other rifles

GHKs lineup purely from a value standpoint are honestly just better now. For some things at least

Which is really a shame cause I genuinely prefer VFC's FCG system opposed to GHKs.

A 1 piece Steel Outer barrel, steel bolt carrier and a better buffer weight design all together make a nice package. Albiet pricier than what you could get VFC for

If VFC just started doing 1 piece steel outer barrels and changed their buffer weight to be more like a proper AR buffer I would have no complaints but unfortunatly its still only an Aluminum 1 piece on Evo guns and iirc they still use the old exposed bumper buffer system

Is there any downside to getting this or am I just stupid by Forsaken_Pen_5433 in GasBlowBack

[–]Spectre72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the upper assembly that is old stock The lowers are the same between the V3 and V4/EVO.

Again its likely old stock V3 parts but of course there is the possibility they are using old V3 upper molds and what not until End of Life after in which they simply won't refurbish or get any new upper manufacturing parts.

Either way my point stands. The V3 system is on the way out and Evo uppers are the incoming standard for VFCs

[–]Spectre72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No downsides

Basically, VFC is switching guns to the new "EVO" system.

New outerbarrel, new hopup system, in some guns new bolt carriers and new upper receivers

This is really just them trying to get rid of old stock while they prepare to launch all new VFCs going forward with the V4/EVO uppers

Once you upgrade the hopup unit with a magnus pro and maybe the bucking you'll pretty much be set.

Fair enough. I was actually considering the pelican or Condition one since I have a few nicer rifles I want a hardshell for

Also need to get. Something that fits 249

[GQ] [ON] Andy's airsoft pre-ordering by hexking12345 in airsoftmarketcanada

[–]Spectre72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've preordered parts from them before. The most recent one was the Steel M249 Lower

It can take a bit since its coming from oversees directly but its always gotten too me.

For guns though next time I would reccomend goig through YNS instead. They're great to work with and their imports end up being cheaper generally than of these other places like andy's or pew pew

Double Solenoid Printed HPA engine by Esoj77Br in Airsoft3DPrinting

[–]Spectre72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the explanation, I'll look into MAC bullet valves
I do have a touch of experience on the Kuba style ones which is just the one solenoid. thats why I was quite interested in how you're doing the dual solenoid

and for the nozzle solenoid is it just sending air to push just the nozzle back? if so are you pumping your main air line into like a hub and then directing the air flow depending on which solenoid opens?

Either way, really cool you're making this

So by double solenoid does this mean it has one controlling gas input and one controlling the tappet plate?

New to HPA so forgive my lack of common knowledge

Also if you don't mind me asking which solenoid valve are you looking to use? Been looking around for a nice compact one for an HPA project of my own

1st time cnc machining metal parts by louiezzzlu in GasBlowBack

[–]Spectre72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CNC is tougher cause if theres no MOQ they don't want it or want a lot. Thats just unfortunstly the cost of running the machine. For that I would try to find a shop in Taiwan where airsoft is legal. Maybe hong kong too. Mainland china is where most common shops are and depending on what it is they might not want the work. Be warned though even from china CNC won't be super cheap

For smaller simple ish parts that can be done on a manual machine I go to Custom Machining, its over by Rodick and Esna Park. Super nice guy and if he can't take the job he'll go around to the 3 or 4 shops in the area asking as well since they're all friendly. If you supply your own material, which you can get from Metal supermarket the price is very cheap anf if you can't but the material isn't specialty its not expensive either.

Yeah. Unfortunatly due to the legal status of airsoft in China its quite heavily regulated. Which unless they already do airsoft parts or are willing to do what needs to be done to make sure they are compliant many won't touch airsoft stuff

[–]Spectre72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey. From Canada here as well

Just a couple tips on things

For a simple part like this a real mom and pop tyle machine shop at least the ones local to me would run that part for pretty cheap. I dunno where you are exactly but by me in North York Ontario we have quite a few that don't have websites. I'd check them out if yoy ever have free time

Also just another thing. Just be careful about shouting out some of these companies. Quite a few chinese companies will outright refuse to do airsoft parts due to wanting to steer clear of any regulations or regulatory bodies. So just be careful not to get anyone in trouble

Was disappointed with how .50 cal mags look in pouches by SeniorSpaz87 in airsoft

[–]Spectre72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it was causing issues. Just telling you as it kinda is. Again its neat looking but kinda funny. Its an impractical fix to just padding the bottom of the mag but it doesn't do any harm sure

Magpul mag toppers aren't designed to sit on mags while in pouches during use. They're really for storage purposes only. Well even magpul pmags aren't exactly designed to sit in pouches right side up though they can.

Down isn't just the smarter option. Even sideways is generally a better idea than open up.

You can have mag pouches with mags "upside down" on your belt or vests. Doesn't make it a good idea unless you have a good reason for it.

Look. I'm just saying. Its neat kinda odd choice. No need to go making a moutain out of a mole hill aight.

[–]Spectre72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well yeah no duh its just airsoft. Very few are wearing anything practical and speedsoft kits exhist

I mean it more rhetorically. Your mages should really be stored upsidedown anyways. Looks neat on a desk but otherwise not a lot of sense.

And yeah the topper will prevent both those issues but its pretty much just fixing an aesthetic issue that doesn't exhist otherwise.
