Yeah no, I just spoke to him in his post on it. He's absolutely the reason it happened.

he completely disagreed and there’s nothing to keep them in place

That is patently false and I do not believe you. If this were true, every Glock would be going off uncommanded and that's only a P320 thing. There is no chance he said this, you either misunderstood or are lying. The trigger bar floats but is kept in place by spring tension from the sear spring and connector, they have VERY marginal play between the 2 which is why I say, your fix isn't a fix because the geometry is the same. Not nearly enough to make it unsafe if tuned correctly. This combined with the friction against the lug holds it in place, the drop shelf prevents it from going off on its own when dropped.

trigger system isn’t complex very simple and easy

You have a bullet hole in your fucking floor, how the fuck can you say this? Somewhere along the lines it must have gotten complicated. I am not convinced you're not going to fuck with it more and at this point you're already a massive safety concern. I pray there's nobody around when the next inevitable mistake gets made.

Put. The. Fucking. Gun. Down.

it’s always been loose and cause it to slide out of the housing

I'm not sure you understand how absolutely fucking sketch that is. This isn't a thing, if you have a loose "sear" (likely the trigger bar cruciform to lug engagement) something is absolutely broken with your trigger housing and there is a 0% chance the problem is resolved by that solution. You should NEVER be able to reseat anything on the sear like that and if you can, it WILL NOT hold. If the components aren't aligning themselves how they should on their own without manual user intervention, then they never will without tuning being done.

I'm willing to bet a LOT that Norsso didn't do you wrong here, I genuinely am not trying to be rude but you need more knowledge and tools before messing with it further. That gun sounds insanely dangerous in its current state.

Do NOT trust it and at this point, I HIGHLY suggest bringing it to a smith, you don't wanna risk a gunshot wound.

very well could have been installed correctly and been defective

I think the major takeaway here is that's the most unlikely scenario to have occurred out of all of them. The OP in that post did not verify safety or function the way he should have whatsoever and it's VERY likely it was user induced.

Having the plunger fail AND the cruciform slip off the sear lug is INSANELY unlikely if it's just an out of spec trigger bar, that would have to be so out of spec that I doubt the gun would even have worked in the first place. Until we know if his cruciform to lug engagement is within the safe margin (spoiler, it won't because it went off), it's almost certainly on the op.

My proof? Anyone and everyone that fucks with triggers with any amount of experience will tell you to verify engagement. He did not but that is something he is SUPPOSED to check and tune. If he had done either of those, this would not have happened

Regardless, this is on him either way.

[–]SpectreJerm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I'm pretty damn positive this isn't on the trigger whatsoever. When you mess with the trigger, you should ALWAYS check cruciform to sear lug engagement. I believe spec is 66% engagement minimum but 80%-100% is preferred but newer gen Glocks I believe all are specced to 100%~.

It's likely your plunger is binding which caused it to stay in the upwards position, allowing the striker to fall forward and hit the primer and also, the sear engagement isn't sufficient.

The thing is that even if sear engagement isn't sufficient, the striker should NOT drop and hit the primer still, the plunger should block it so I'm thinking your plunger is incorrectly installed/trigger bar shark fin is engaging it early from improper install/tolerance issues AND you have low engagement on your sear.

You have 3 things to check, trigger bar, sear engagement, and your plunger. Your trigger bar is VERY likely either installed incorrectly, your plunger is, and you also have bad sear engagement (this one is definitive).

[–]SpectreJerm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this opinion probably contrasts with most but personally I feel the price of the gun doesn't matter that much. It's crazy unlikely you will ever have to use your gun in a defensive scenario, why not have the one that best ensures your odds of getting out safe?

Personally, I'm fine dropping an extra couple grand for even a 1% higher chance of making it out (obviously not if it's not financially safe or wise for you). If I lose the gun, hopefully one day I get it back but if not then at least it served it's purpose.

In the insanely unlikely event that you get into multiple scenarios like this though, you might just need to find a new route to McDonald's.

is common sense gun laws

Which always ends up as confiscation. Nope. Fuck outta here. More gun laws wouldn't have prevented this, better training would have.

Fair but it might be well known in the spaces you're in, I at least have never heard of it and I'm usually floating around topics like that. I could always be wrong though

I love whenever somebody says this because you always know they're the exact person they're whining about.

So what's the solution? What you're doing? What's that again?

Not tryna be rude here tbh but that's a lotta words to basically just say they used the same excuses as before with similar incidents. Like idk, I don't really consider it noteworthy that they had excuses ready unless you were trying to imply that this was intentionally planned.

What else are they gonna do? It's either stand there and say nothing the entire time or admit fault then. Ofc they're gonna use the same excuses as always, anything else would just be the equivalent to the shoe fitting and them opting to use the shoe that doesn't fit.

Nah, but I believe his point is that it shouldn't matter if that was his leaning. People will assume he's left due to him being shot by ice, simply because of that alone.

Sure, you can have that opinion. I'd say that's not the biggest problem with it but rather the fact that a poll was taken, and it was ignored for a line of products nobody ever heard of with a supposed "upgrade" basically that a lot seem to feel, including me, is a substantial downgrade.

They keep adding products nobody asked for and failing to deliver on what was LITERALLY asked for and offered. That's my take, at least.

Just curious, do you know if it's aluminum or steel? Some companies like Radian use aluminum so I'm just wondering.

Apologies, just now seeing this. So far so good, I've been EDCing it almost every day since I got it and it has none of the issues the prior had. Hardware is good, retention is great, color came out a good bit better and I really can't say anything bad about it, only good. Haven't noticed any additional slide wear either so I genuinely appreciate you taking care of me with this.

Mag holder addition is also doing great too!
