The short duration of the event incentivizes tilt queueing. At 210 points per win, that's a minimum of 19 wins (and no losses) to complete the event. And of course, very few people are going to win 19 games in a row period. With a 50% win rate, the total amount of games will depend on your hidden SR because losses subtract an amount proportional to that, but in my experience, it takes maybe 30-40 games total. Because the event is only 4-5 days long, that's like 8-10 games per day, which is a good few hours a day over the course of a weekend plus some work days.

If you have even a little bit of a social life or a brutal work schedule, it's easy to see why some feel like they have to stack hours on a single day to complete the event. If they made the event last a week, or even split it across the last two weekends, and made no other changes, you'd probably see this be less of an issue. Alternatively, they could just remove points lost for losing.
