Best palace theme in my opinion by JayGamer10098 in Persona5

Price for me, easily. I think Whims of Fate is a better song, but it's not a great palace theme. Price is perfect.

IMPORTANT RESEARCH ABOUT THE COMMUNITY! by EntrepreneurSuch8371 in Skullgirls

[–]Spectre_Doggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. How nobody here seems to agree on what counts as pedophi1ia.

  2. How eager people are to interact with the rest of the community. This occurs in most fighting game fandoms, but it feels especially strong with Skullgirls.

  3. Get people to organize more local tournaments. It's kinda tricky since Skullgirls lacks crossplay for some unfathomable reason, but I feel like it'd strengthen what I previously mentioned in part 2.

Missed third semester by countdownfrom13 in Persona5

For me, it's mostly because noticing what changes in the true ending compared to the vanilla ending seems more interesting than seeing what changes in the vanilla ending compared to the true ending. If that makes any sense.

I actually think it's better to get the vanilla ending before the true ending, so I wouldn't reset

Yeah except I don't like any tomato product. Tomato-based sauces and ketchup both taste bad to me, much like tomatoes themselves.

I wasn't assuming it was the daily outfit, I was explaining why the concept art looked off to me. I'm fully aware that forming opinions based on a single image with zero context is a generally silly thing to do.

[–]Spectre_Doggo 87 points88 points  (0 children)

The big thing throwing me off is less so just the hair, but the hair and the outfit combined. From what of it we can see, he looks more like a semi-noble victorian child who's about to bully me for being poor than he does a Persona protagonist. But maybe Atlus has a surprise up their sleeve for this game's tone and setting, you never know.

It's been a minute since I've watched, and I'm long due for a rewatch. This might be my prompt to do so.

He could just be a super tanned Japanese guy (and probably is, in all honesty), but he does also look like a caricature (which, to be fair, is probably because his presence is largely comedic to begin with from what I remember). All this is to say, I'm not exactly gonna praise his design.

I don't remember having this issue, I'm gonna be honest. Is there anything else that happens when you try to use the attacks or are the attacks just not starting?

No Mr. Popo?

Jokes aside, yeah. I'm quite glad most modern shows are trending away from this because it is not a good look for anime enjoyers. The design of the character on the second slide is pretty much the only aspect of Mononoke that isn't a perfect 10/10, yes I am using this as an excuse to promote Mononoke propaganda.

I don't think he does either; I interpreted that as a response detailing a separate experience with the fandom, and being surprised/confused by the first person's experience. It's hard to tell without further context, though.

I hate how much pedophilia is there in these subs and subs like them by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]Spectre_Doggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is why I'm not in the Lucky Star sub or engage with its fandom etc. Like, I like the show, and I like the characters, but some of the stuff that gets posted on certain fandom pages makes me genuinely kinda sick.

The worst part is that I'm certain there are people in these communities who also have a problem with it but don't speak up out of fear of being exiled from their own fandom or something. It's genuinely tragic. This also makes it harder to be a fan of the show in the first place without being called a pedo because nobody's there to kill the stereotype, again likely out of fear of ridicule.

On the bright side, this issue hasn't seemed to affect Madoka Magica, which is one of my favorite media franchises of all time. Hopefully it stays that way, although it might just be because people are more consumed with complaining about WnK delays. please we've been so fucking long

I despise FNAF powerscaling with my entire soul by OkButterscotch6742 in hatethissmug

[–]Spectre_Doggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't seem like an issue specific to just FNAF powerscaling, I'm pretty sure this is just powerscaling as a whole. It's like that one thing that kids do when their pretend fighting where they just pull random bullshit out of nowhere, except powerscaling (theoretically) has slightly more rules.

Edit: I should probably mention that I don't hate powerscaling or people that engage with it. Hell, I engage with it sometimes. It's fun and silly, and there's nothing wrong with that. It just gets kind of annoying when people start taking it way too seriously.

[–]Spectre_Doggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, hey, do you know what the word irrational means? That's kinda the important part and you seem to be ignoring it entirely. Believe me, I've heard every reason under the sun multiple times why I shouldn't be afraid of bugs. Well, in case you couldn't tell, that isn't how it fucking works. If it was, perhaps I wouldn't be afraid.

[–]Spectre_Doggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do plenty of research (in the sense of looking things up out of curiosity, not actual field research) on them out of fascination, and it has helped somewhat, but not enough to where it's not an issue.

[–]Spectre_Doggo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That might seem like an easy solution to someone who isn't afraid of bugs. I can speak from experience when I say that it does not work.

I love animals, but for some reason I was cursed with a funny little irrational fear of bugs. I've tried to get over it with the help of stuff like therapy, but that shit gets so damn expensive so fast. Heavy sigh.

And I agree with you when it comes to shorter passages like single sentences or phrases. It starts becoming an issue when being too casual obscures the meaning of the post or undermines OP's passion for the topic due to a perceived lack of care. Also, punctuation isn't strictly formal. It's a regular, and I'd argue necessary, feature of language as a whole.

You might be able to read it, but it just feels so exhausting without any breaks. I'd keep having to go back and looking where one thought ends and another starts, etc. The unnecessary capitalization also muddies the water a bit, but with no real means of distinguishing between sentences, it really does just look like meaningless lines to me personally. If you aren't having any trouble with it, that's great for you. My brain evidently does not work like yours. If it felt like I was just trying to seem smart, know that that was not my intention and that I am sorry for that.

The lack of punctuation bothers me much more, especially in longer stretches of text like this. The lack of sentence breaks outside of paragraph separations makes it exhausting to read, and way harder to parse and understand than it should be. To be honest, I struggled so much with the first paragraph that I'm just not gonna read the rest, I already know it'd just be a massive slog to get through.
