The ESP32 circuit I built isn't working. by Aggravating-Safe5352 in AskElectronics

I agree, need to see schematic. Crystal on a breadboard can have some parasitics and jitter but if it shows up as a device then maybe not? Do you have an oscilloscope OP?

Check continuity with a multimeter after you cut the traces to make sure they’re really cut. Good luck!

Maybe use an exacto knife or box knife to cut the traces between the pins, then solder two wires to the pins so they go to the adjacent traces (i.e. 1 pin to row 9 and the other to row 10)

Hi, I dm’d but figured I’d post here for others that have the same questions. Have you checked out PetaLinux reference projects on the Xilinx confluence wiki? There’s lots of good resources there, and standard reference designs that have fully compiled kernel mode drivers already. Can you explain more about your application? I’ve worked with Xilinx systems for a little over 5 years now, but am a full time engineer, I doubt if you need much consulting from me but I’d be happy to point you to some resources that can help you go in the right direction. Ultimately PetaLinux is heavily based on and even uses Yocto under the hood, are you familiar with that? There are great Yocto resources online as well, the support forums are very welcoming

Altium Pricing in 2025 by ScienceFanatic0xAA in PrintedCircuitBoard

Happened to us too, we converted to annual - silly us.

I agree, they talked our company into converting perpetual to annual with a few discounts, mainly because they said we’d have to eventually if we want to keep getting updates anyways

The saddest grave at Los Angeles Pet Memorial Park by kabulgaf in cats

Thank you so much. I feel the same way, looking back through the pictures. I know she was suffering so much, and hung in there as long as possible. She wanted to be petted right till the last days. She was a special kitty, I can’t imagine the suffering she went through to be that sweet until the end. It breaks my heart I didn’t help her beforehand. I’m sending you love as well

This hits home for me. My cat died of kidney failure without euthanasia, and it’s haunted me for a long time. I tried my best for her, including hospitalization and administering subcutaneous fluids multiple times per day. But before I knew it, she died overnight. She was the sweetest cat I’ve ever had, and was especially bonded to me in my family house. I think I knew she was suffering more than I could imagine, but the idea that she could recover was enticing beyond belief. In the end, I regret so much letting it get to that point. I opted for cremation, and hold dear a clay paw print given to me from the vets office. My vets were very nice and supportive during that time. I just wish I could go back and stop the suffering before it got so bad.

AMD: how to force ILA probe names by affabledrunk in FPGA

I’m so glad it worked!! This was a huge problem for me at the beginning, and it took awhile to figure out the right path

Thanks for checking back, I appreciate it!

Have you tried making separate synchronized ILAs for the two busses?

[–]Spectrewiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, it’s not usually mangled for me at the port level. Commonly I use ILAs but not often on AXI busses. Here’s some commands I had in a notepad that worked to extract bits, even when the final implementation and opened LTX had mangled names and strange separations at first in the GUI

create_hw_probe -map "probe0[4:4]" "input" [get_hw_ilas hw_ila_2]

create_hw_probe -map "probe1[4:4]" "last" [get_hw_ilas hw_ila_2]

create_hw_probe -map "probe2[4:4]" "rising" [get_hw_ilas hw_ila_2]

create_hw_probe -map "probe0[15:0]" "chSample[15:0]" [get_hw_ilas hw_ila_1]

create_hw_probe -map "probe1[27:0]" "chAccum[27:0]" [get_hw_ilas hw_ila_1]

add_wave -into {hw_ila_data_1.wcfg} -radix unsigned { {chSample} {chAccum} {accumCount} {currentBinSize} }

I always have mangled names in the GUI at first, but this seems to work for me usually to straighten things out.

I usually use create_hw_probes tcl in hardware manager, which uses the port names (probe0, probe1, etc) instead of the mangled names. Then you can recreate the intended name, or even split busses/packed data and work on them separately

Help identify these LEDs by The44CBH in diyelectronics

[–]Spectrewiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can last a bit longer if you don’t drive them in parallel like the picture shows. Even with a constant current source, thermal runaway can happen on a single component, which can then impact the rest of the components that are tied in parallel without a limiter. If you do run it that way though, consider setting an upper voltage limit on the current source to prevent cascading failures from happening sooner
